Lacquer Up

We used different purple tones, but you can also experiment with a variety of shades. After all, the Milky Way's color spread is always expanding, just like the universe. To start, lay down a solid base coat of a dark, inky lacquer to mirror the night sky. We used MAC's Formidable ($16; maccosmetics.com), an almost-black with teal shimmer, to give the look extra sparkle. Allow the color to dry before moving on to the next step.
