The star just released the music video for her new single “Live It Up”—coinciding with her performance of the tune at the Billboard Music Awards last night—and it’s pure J.Lo. All her classic elements are there: Belly-baring outfits (including her swing look by Wes Gordon), baller shades (by Swarovski), wild makeup choices (orange lipstick, anyone?), and dance moves at the going rate of 125 BPM. Her explanation: “I’m a dancer, so dance and choreography have always been a way to express myself,” she once told InStyle. “Anything you do with music or a song, or even playing a character, is a way of expressing yourself. Diane Kruger celebrated Reinvent Yourself, her new short film for the luxury watch brand Jaeger Le-Coultre, in New York City last week, and now you can watch the video she’s so proud of above. “It felt very authentic about my life and my friendship with Jaeger Le-Coultre,” Kruger told editors of the film over lunch of pan-seared bass and asparagus flan at the Rockefeller Center Loft and Garden. “It pieces together my professional life and my personal life, and I’m very grateful for that.” Therfore, you’ll see her life come alive, from her movie star moments, like swinging on a set, to some of her most vulnerable, like crying over a broken heart. “Everybody in life can relate to laughter or cry for joy or just that moment of something ending, so that was the inspiration there,” she explained. “I had a couple of sad thoughts going through my head on that one.” But, since the whole campaign focuses on reinvention, it ends on a very positive note. “You’re not just defined by your job, but also by the choices you make as a woman,” she added. “You can be anything, if you put your heart to it.” Watch it and get some inspiration for yourself.

Did you catch the premiere of Mariah Carey‘s latest single on American Idol last night? Mimi’s “#Beautiful” track is the first off of her forthcoming 2013 album, and the video features the diva—clad in a trendy cutout bikini—hitching a motorcycle ride with R&B singer Miguel. The feeling of the video hearkens back to her ’90s Mariah videos, complete with must-have Mariah elements like perfectly-hitting sunlight (like “Honey”), belly-baring tops (like “Always Be My Baby”), and spaghetti strap tank dresses (like “Butterfly”). ”I feel like this is the first record I’ve ever released that’s simmering and bubbling up,” she said in a video for The Grammys YouTube channel. “It’s a feel-good record.
