The Voice Poll: Which Christina Milian Dress Is Your Favorite?

Nov 9, 2012 @ 3:30 pm

This week on The Voice, Christina Milian wore three gorgeous dresses for the kickoff week of live episodes—and the first elimination last night. “For the first live shows, I [wanted] to wear something really glam—I like to show my personality through each outfit,” Milian told InStyle.com. “It’s fun having a few episodes a week so we can mimic the outfit to who is performing that night or the energy of the day.” On Monday night, the show’s social media correspondent wore a grommet-adorned LBD by Finders Keepers and Zara shoes. On Wednesday, Milian rocked a black leather dress by Twenty Cluny with Schutz shoes, and for last night’s eliminations, the singer chose a blue Roland Mouret dress and L.A.M.B. shoes. Tell us: Which look did you like best? Let us know by voting in the poll below! And make sure to tune in to The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

The Voice: Details on Christina Aguilera’s Patriotic Makeup and Bridal Headpiece

Nov 8, 2012 @ 3:51 pm

Inspired by the recent presidential election, Christina Aguilera opted for a patriotric-meets-bridal look for her team’s first live performances on The Voice last night. “I think Election Day was subliminally still in our system when we were getting ready,” her makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, told InStyle.com exclusively. “The long liquid winged eyeliner gave the feeling of stripes, and a large particle light blue glitter on the lid gave the feeling of twinkling stars.” And the sparkle didn’t stop there. Aguilera also wore a dramatic crystal headpiece from Jennifer Behr’s bridal line anchored along her side part. “Christina pushes us to be creative, so the last thing she wanted to do was wear the headpiece the ‘normal’ way,” said her hairstylist, Mark Townsend. “The more outside the box, the happier Christina gets! Women tweeted me all last night telling me they wore the same hairpiece on their wedding day!” Tell us in the comments: Do you like Christina’s sparkly look?

Christina Aguilera’s The Voice Beauty Inspiration: Rainbow Brite!

Nov 6, 2012 @ 4:29 pm

Last night was the first live episode of The Voice, and judge Christina Aguilera kicked things off with some major pops of color, beauty-wise. The inspiration? A popular animated ’80s TV series! “Using a candy pink lip added some fun to the sexy ‘Rainbow Brite’ look,” her makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, told InStyle.com exclusively. “Christina had a lot of red in her hair, so I used a navy eye shadow to give her the drama she craves. It creates violet undertones, which worked well with the pink braids close to her face.” And speaking of Aguilera’s bright strands, we asked her hairstylist, Mark Townsend, what other colors to expect from the star this season. “We added strawberry highlights last night for the first live show, but Christina is an artist and likes to have fun with her hairstyles, so I can promise we will be switching it up a lot [during] the rest of the season!” Aguilera’s team will perform live on Wednesday, so she was able to relax last night and watch the performances from Team Blake and Team Adam. What did you think of Christina’s bold beauty look? Tell us in the comments below!

Usher on Joining The Voice and His ‘Hip-Beast-Meets-Chic’ Style

Oct 26, 2012 @ 11:48 am

Usher knows how to make the ladies “Scream,” and not just for his dance-floor hits—it’s his style, too. “It’s Ursher baby!” is how he described his sharp navy suit look at last night’s Pencils of Promise Gala in New York, which celebrated the non-profit’s mission to provide quality education for schools and programs globally. “I could call my style hip-beast-meets-chic, you know what I’m saying?” (Yes. Yes we do.) And we’ll be seeing a lot more of it on The Voice’s spring season, where he’ll be one of the judges replacing CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera’s 180-degree-moving vacant seats. Of what kind of judge he’s going to be, he said: “A great one! I’m a little biased of me, but we can be really great as artists.” He also loves his new pals, Blake Shelton, Shakira, and Adam Levine. “Me and Blake, we got our Country Twang,” he said. “I’ve been learning a lot of Spanish and Portuguese from Shakira, and me and Adam hit it off right on the first day.” That’s enough to make you say ‘yeah,’ and we’re sure Usher would agree.

Oct 16, 2012 @ 12:00 pm

The Voice social media correspondent Christina Milian picked her look for last night’s battle rounds episode with the fight-to-win message of the show in mind. “The shoulders and the fit of the top gave it a gladiator look,” Milian told InStyle.com, of the black lace Karen Millen top and leather Primary New York mini pairing, which she accessorized with House of Harlow cuff and Broken English jewelry. “I wore Giuseppe Zanotti shoes which are my favorite!” she added. “I’m 5’2, so that’s why I love Giuseppes because I tower over everyone.” What did you think of Christina’s look? And whose team are you rooting for? Tell us in the comments below!

The Voice: Secrets from the Show’s Hairstylist and Makeup Artist!

Sep 19, 2012 @ 5:28 pm
The Voice contestantsPaul Drinkwater/NBC (3); Mark Seliger/NBC (3)

On last night’s episode of The Voice, the judges continued to add to their teams, and we especially love the teen contestants who have dominated the Blind Audition rounds like Paulina (Team Christina), Kelly Crapa (Team Blake) and Adanna Duru (Team Adam). We caught up with the show’s stylists for a sneak peek at what to expect from the upcoming hair and makeup this season. “This year in particular, the contestants have amazing hair, but I can’t wait to show them new styling options,” The Voice hair stylist Shawn Finch told InStyle.com. “This season you will be seeing lots of amazing plaits. I love doing stylish braids, and we have lots of contestants who are perfect for that style.” As for makeup, expect the artists to have a different look than for their auditions when the live shows start. “We are very considerate of the artist’s original looks, so we mostly do corrective skin makeup during the Blind Audition rounds,” makeup artist Darcy Gilmore told InStyle.com. “But we have a new relationship with Make Up For Ever, so expect outrageous, glamorous and gorgeous looks for the live rounds.” We can’t wait!
