And the Project Runway Season 11 Winner Is…

Apr 26, 2013 @ 11:00 am

Congratulations to Project Runway season 11 winner, Michelle Lesniak Franklin! After consistently wowing the judges all season long with her ”geek chic” aesthetic, the Portland, Oregon native took the competition’s top spot last night, joining the ranks of past winners like Christian Siriano and Dmitry Sholokhov. She took home $25,000 from L’Oreal Paris EverStyle to kickstart her line, which is already becoming more popular thanks to her newfound fame. “It’s changed my life,” Franklin told InStyle.com last month when she celebrated the release of her challenge-winning dress at Lord & Taylor (shown inset) at the retailer’s New York flagship. “As soon as I put something out it gets sold, which is really good. People know what I do now, and they want to buy it, which is even more exciting.” Keep your eyes peeled for more to come from this rising star.

He’s been working on his collection for Lord & Taylor, which just hit shelves at the store’s New York flagship and will be available at lordandtaylor.com today! “I received such an amazing response from my fans while on Project Runway, and a million questions from different people about when and where they would be able to buy one of my designs,” Sholokhov told InStyle.com. “So now that my first ever collection is available, my fans and customers can actually buy it and it’s real.” Inspired by his winning collection, the line consists of eight sculpted dresses in a range of neutral hues. “I tried to focus on every woman and every type of style,” Sholokhov told InStyle.com. “It’s my belief that each of my dresses offers something for everyone. Project Runway Power! Last Night’s Winning Dress Arrives at Lord & Taylor (And Sells Out Online!)

Mar 22, 2013 @ 12:15 pm

The power of Project Runway muscles on! Last night, contestants competed for the chance to have their design produced and sold exclusively at Lord & Taylor, and the winner, Michelle Lesniak Franklin, not only impressed the judges, she wowed the fans, too. Her chartreuse satin dress already sold out on lordandtaylor.com. “It’s kind of crazy and surreal,” Franklin told InStyle.com at a breakfast held in her honor at L&T’s flagship in New York City this morning. “I’m still in shock and this happened quite a bit ago. Just seeing my dress manufactured and them lined up in here, it’s pretty awesome.” What an achievement! Despite selling out online, the design is still available at select Lord & Taylor stores; click here to see a list of locations.

What Surprises Heidi Klum the Most? She Tells InStyle

Feb 9, 2013 @ 5:28 pm

Heidi Klum just released her fourth scent, Surprise, this month, so when we caught up with the Project Runway host at the show’s finale runway show during New York Fashion Week, we had to wonder what surprises her most. “I had four, they were all my surprises,” the model told InStyle.com, referring to her children Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou. “When they came out, that was the biggest surprise. Even though before you do mammograms, you kind of feel like you think what they’re going to look like, but when you look in the eyes and the face of your child for the first time, that is always the biggest surprise.” Too sweet! Just like her scent, which blends colorful notes like magnolia, rose petals, and pink pepper, bottled up in ribbon-inspired flaconFind Surprise at drugstores nationwide for $28.

Project Runway: Zac Posen Replaces Michael Kors as Judge

Dec 19, 2012 @ 11:10 am

There’s a switching of the judges on Project Runway! Michael Kors is leaving the show, and filling his empty seat is celebrity-favorite Zac Posen, who took Twitter to announce his big news. “So excited to be the new judge on @ProjectRunway Season 11!!” The switch is due to scheduling conflicts that prohibited Kors from being a regular judge. However, this is not the end of Kors’s days on Project Runway. “Michael will be seen in the future on the show and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as a judge for season 11 finale,” Lifetime said in a statement. And while Kors’s words of wisdom will be missed—auf wiedersehen for now!—we’re excited to see Posen in action. Project Runway returns to Lifetime on January 24th at 9/8c.

Plus, see stars who love to wear Zac Posen!
