Revenge Season Finale: Ashley Madekwe’s Low-Key Style

May 24, 2012 @ 12:55 pm

Season 1 of Revenge came to a close last night, and the final episode gave us a rare glimpse of Ashley’s off-duty style. “I live for the moments when we get to see [Ashley Davenport] outside of the office or away from party planning,” Ashley Madekwe told InStyle.com exclusively. “It gives us a chance to see what she likes to wear in her down time.” Together with costume designer Jill Ohanneson, Madekwe put together this look, Topshop skinny jeans and a magenta silk blouse from Holmes & Yang. “We bought the Haute Hippie Suede jacket as an Ashley Davenport homage to Chanel early on in the season and I was so happy that we finally got to to use it,” she added. Find a similar HH jacket at saksfifthavenue.com. Revenge, how we’ll miss you until next season!

Celebrities love Mary Katrantzou! The Greek-born, London-based designer launched her first ready-to-wear collection in 2008, and her instantly identifiable vibrant prints became a red carpet favorite ever since. “It’s flattering,” the designer told InStyle.com of seeing stars like Keira Knightley, Hailee Steinfeld, Claudia Schiffer, and Dianna Agron in her designs at the British Fashion Council’s London Show Rooms event in Los Angeles. “It makes you happy because you never have that perspective until you see the clothes on a woman. It’s always been a woman with a strong presence. It’s amazing.” Last month, her skills were recognized in a big way when the 28-year-old won the Emerging Talent Award at British Fashion Awards. Her clothes are available now at net-a-porter.com, and next year she’ll be releasing collaborations with Topshop and Longchamp. Not ready for her print power? Heed her advice: “You have to have a little bit of fun—especially with prints. We all need a little bit of color and humor in our lives. Wear it confidently.” See who else loves wearing Mary Katrantzou’s designs in the gallery.
