Tina Fey Turns 42! See Her Transformation

Tina Fey turns 42 today! Born Elizabeth Stamatina Fey, the writer and actress has gone from shaggy-haired Saturday Night Live scribe to the star of her own Emmy-winning show 30 Rock. ”I had a pretty rough puberty,” the Upper Darby, Pennsylvania native has said. “Growing up as a girl is always traumatizing, especially when you have the deadly combination of greasy skin and getting your boobs at 10.” Today, the mother-of-two and Bossypants author is head-turning beautiful, or as pal Rachel Dratch called her, “a total hottie.” See the funny lady’s amazing beauty evolution in the gallery.

Tina Fey: ‘Great Makeup Artists Need These Four Things’

Tina Fey thanked two of the most important people in her life last night—her makeup artists! As she honored her 30 Rock behind-the-scenes magicians Jenn Jorge Nelson and Julie Teel at an event hosted by the New York Women in Film and Television, Fey touched on the four specific skills needed to be a great makeup artist: “I think you need the patience of Job, you need the eyes of an artist, the hands of a surgeon, and the firm but tactful demeanor of a women’s prison gynecologist,” she said. “Because we’re crazy and you’re seeing us at our most vulnerable. Jorge and Julie, I don’t envy your job because you have to try to make the actor look like what she thinks she looks like in her head, which I imagine is as dangerous as women’s prison gynecology. So thank you for your service in that area.” Now that’s gratitude!

Emmys 2011: The Impromptu Best Actress Category Beauty Pageant

Rob Lowe and Sofia Vergara held a hilarious impromptu beauty pageant when they presented the nominees in the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category at the 2011 Emmy Awards tonight. But the presenters didn’t announce what they wore—so we will! From left to right:

Tina Fey in a black gown by Tadashi Shoji; Martha Plimpton in sparkling burgundy Zac Posen; Melissa McCarthy in a custom-designed dress; Amy Poehler in shimmery blue Peter Som; Edie Falco in a one-shoulder Randi Rahm design; and Laura Linney in a chic Celine LBD.

McCarthy ultimately took home the win. “Holy smokes,” she said as she took her statue. “Wow, it’s my first and best pageant ever.” After the show, Martha Plimpton admitted it was ultimately her and Poehler’s idea. “The whole point is that we should be up there celebrating each other,” Plimpton told InStyle.com. “If there’s no spontaneity and no fun, then what’s the point?” See what everyone wore on the 2011 Emmys red carpet in the gallery! Baby News: Jessica Alba and Tina Fey Welcome Baby Girls; Hilary Duff Is Pregnant!

What a week for baby news! Jessica Alba and Cash Warren welcomed their second child into the world on Saturday, daughter Haven Garner. “Healthy and happy! Big Sister Honor couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to our family,” Alba announced on Facebook. Tina Fey and her husband Jeffrey Richmond also became new parents last week when Fey gave birth to baby girl Penelope Athena Richmond (the couple’s second!), and Hilary Duff took to her website yesterday to announce that she’s expecting her first baby with husband Mike Comrie. “BABY MAKES THREE,” she wrote. “We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives.” Congratulations all around!
