Shakira’s Full, Sexy Hair Take Center Stage on This Week’s The Voice

The contestants were feeling the pressure this week on The Voice! As we saw two singers say goodbye, whittling the group down to eight, we also got the inside scoop on Coach Shakira‘s two looks. In order to embrace the heat of competition (and the blazing temperatures in Los Angeles), Shakira went for full, sexy curls both nights to contrast with her neutral sparkling top by Amen on Monday and her glam Roberto Cavalli design on Tuesday. “It’s been pretty hot in L.A. and we wanted to embrace her natural texture,” the judge’s stylist Kim Kimble told InStyle.com. ”She has naturally thick, curly hair so this look was easy and effortless.” To achieve Shakira’s ‘do, Kimble added a bit of serum to her air-dried hair. Just like that, she was ready to take her seat in her big red coach chair. Gorgeous!

Shakira’s Stylists Share the Scoop on Her Looks from The Voice

Last week, the top 12 contestants on The Voice battled it out live to make it to the final stage of the competition. So who’s the real showstopper of the season so far? Coach Shakira! InStyle.com got the scoop on her gorgeous hairdos from her pro stylist, Kim Kimble. On last Monday night’s live round, Kimble complemented the singer’s white Sarli Couture crystal embroidered jacket by raking her strands into a high ponytail with loose curls. “We wanted to juxtapose her ornate jacket with soft, pulled-back hair,” Kimble told us exclusively. “It really allowed the jacket to shine.” The following night, Shakira went full-on glam in an ombre silk chiffon dress with crystal detailing by Amen. “The clothes always dictate the look,” said Kimble of her choice to create soft, flowing waves. To get the look, she used a flat iron rather than a traditional curling iron. “A flat iron creates more of a softer, flatter wave, so its not as bouncy; it’s just a bit sexier.” Her pro tip? “Don’t clamp down hard on the iron, you don’t want any creases or dents—it should look soft.” The Voice airs tonight and tomorrow at 8/7c on NBC.

Shakira’s Look on The Voice Live Rounds: All the Details

The Voice live rounds premiered last night! We’re obsessing over the chemistry of the new judges, especially Shakira‘s sassy Latin flavor, which is why we caught up with her beauty team to get the download on last night’s look. Hairstylist Kimberly Kimble opted to give the star loose waves. “I wanted her to look soft and polished,” Kimble told InStyle.com. “We had done this look a few weeks ago and Shakira wanted to go for it again, and it paired really well with her outfit.” Clad in black leather shorts from Thakoon, a knitted top from IRO, and a chunky statement necklace from Philipp Plein, Shakira completed the look with soft pinks on cheeks and lips. Blake Shelton doesn’t just support musicians by judging The Voice, he supports musicians with his outfits, too! See the brown suede button-up he’s wearing? It’s a piece from Crome, a men’s line designed by Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora and musician-turned-designer Nikki Lund. ”Blake is a man’s man, a talented entertainer and all around good guy,” Sambora wrote to InStyle.com from the road (he’s currently on tour with Bon Jovi). “Very proud that he’s diggin’ our line.” And Lund seconded the excitement over Shelton’s wardrobe choice, seen by the 13.9 million viewers who tuned in to watch the premiere last week (new episodes air Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c). “When creating, I need inspiration, I need something to fuel my imagination, an artist with a distinct style, fire, and something to say such as Blake Shelton, it’s what spurs me on, makes me excited about what I’m doing,” said Lund. American Idol judge Nicki Minaj will launch her own line of accessories and apparel with retailer Kmart and online retailer shopyourway.com, alongside Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice mentor Adam Levine. The two collections are expected to launch this year. “I am so excited to work with this iconic, mass retailer and to bring affordable fashion to my beautiful barbz all across the US,” Minaj said in a statement. “I am really looking forward to diving into the process of designing an apparel and accessory collection,” Levine added. The Voice Winner Is Cassadee Pope! See Her Perform

Cassadee Pope of Team Blake Shelton won the third season of NBC’s The Voice last night! The 23-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, earned herself a recording contract from coming in first, and as part of her final performances, she took to the stage with the likes of Avril Lavigne, The Killers, and the original American Idol Kelly Clarkson. The pair, along with Pope’s runner-up Terry McDermott, performed Clarkson’s most recent single, “Catch My Breath,” and Pope (in an LBD by JS Collections that you can snag for $300) held her own alongside Kelly’s killer vocals. The finale also included a preview of new coaches Usher and Shakira, who will join the cast next season. Watch the video of Cassadee performing with Kelly above, and congratulations to the new star!

The Voice Finale Airs Tonight on NBC: Who Do You Want To Win?

The Voice aired the first part of its finale last night—including a very moving tribute performance of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” for the victims of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut—and by now, the votes are in! The final three contestants in the singing competition (L to R), Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope, and Nicholas David, each performed duets with their respective coaches (Cee Lo and Blake Shelton), and tonight the winner will be revealed.
