Nina Dobrev plays one good, one evil character on The Vampire Diaries, the third season of which just aired with a cliffhanger last week. In real life, her style goes beyond more than just two sides—she’s edgy, polished, flirty, and bohemian—which is exactly how she wants it. “My favorite look is very preppy meets casual meets high fashion,” she told InStyle. She exemplified this no better than within the past four days, easily switching from edgy cut-off shorts, wide-brim fedora, and ankle boots to a polished red dress, khaki blazer, and gold flats to a flirty hot pink Gabriela Cadena dress to a bohemian printed maxi dress. “I’m not one of those girls who like to splurge and shop at every opportunity,” the Bulgarian-born Canadian actress said. “My instinct is to be comfy and run around in flip flops.” And while Dobrev likes to play it simple, she does have one style mission: “I want every single piece in my wardrobe—and in my house—to be unique and remind me of what was going on in my life at the time I bought it,” she said. Tell us: Which of her style stories do you prefer?
