Calvin Klein Releases Katniss-Inspired Dress

Francisco Costa must be a Hunger Games fan! The Calvin Klein creative director, who designed Jennifer Lawrence’s plunging green shift for the film’s New York premiere, just released a dress named for her character, Katniss Everdeen. While the apricot silk crepe design reflects Katniss’s streamlined style, its $5,000 price tag is more Capitol than District 12. The Hunger Games has grossed over $300 million so far, Bloomberg reports, which means millions have caught sight of leading man Josh Hutcherson, who plays the selfless Peeta Mellark opposite heroine Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. Katniss Everdeen Gets the Barbie Treatment

Katniss Everdeen got a Barbie makeover! Mattel is releasing a Hunger Games-inspired Katniss doll as part of its Barbie Collector line this summer. Dressed in mini green cargo pants and a black zip-up jacket like the one Jennifer Lawrence wears in the movie, Katniss Barbie works her signature side braid, quiver full of arrows, and a tiny gold Mockingjay pin. The doll hits shelves this August—just in time for The Hunger Games’ DVD release. Mark your calendars!

The Hunger Games has earned $251 million at the box office so far, which means millions of eyes have caught sight of the brown lace-up boots Jennifer Lawrence’s character Katniss Everdeen wears in the film. The outdoorsy pair is a design by Frye; find them for $398 at thefryecompany.com. Frye is actually really good at getting movie time for its boots, too—last year, the company outfitted Julianne Hough with red boots for her dance-heavy role in Footloose.

The movie made $155 million, making its three-day weekend opening the third biggest in Hollywood history, Deadline reports, behind only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and The Dark Knight. That’s not the only box office bull’s-eye the film struck—it also set the record for highest non-sequel opening ever, and highest March opening ever.
