The music industry’s hottest artists celebrated a year in chart-topping records at Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Legends like Celine Dion and Madonna (in Givenchy), who was honored as the Top Touring Artist, posed together backstage, while Top Digital Songs Artist winner Carly Rae Jepsen (in Dynathe) embraced Nashville star Hayden Panettiere (in Halston Heritage) as the two made their way into the venue. Meanwhile, the night’s nine-time winner Taylor Swift (in Zuhair Murad) shared a moment with BFF Selena Gomez (also in Zuhair Murad) in the crowd. The stars played peekaboo at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards last night! Celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Emmy Rossum, and Taylor Swift all chose to wear designs that incorporated sheer elements (and all by the same designer, Zuhair Murad). Lopez’s gold skirt was see-through, Rossum’s side panels were covered in polka dots only, and Swift’s royal blue mini featured a crackle pattern that showed off her shoulders. But no one tried to do sheer quite like Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison, who walked the carpet in a completely transparent gown (save for her skivvies) by Kristian Aadnevik. Country’s biggest stars turned Las Vegas into NashVegas last night! Keith Urban, Faith Hill (in Chado Ralph Rucci), Taylor Swift (in Naeem Khan), Tim McGraw, and more ventured west to the glitzy MGM Grand Garden Arena for the 48th annual ceremony for the mega-country celebration. Luke Bryan, who also co-hosted the evening with The Voice judge Blake Shelton, took home the evening’s biggest fan-voted honor, the Entertainer of the Year award, only made that much more special by the fact 1.1 million fans casted their votes, while southern newcomers Florida Georgia Line won the other fan-voted category, New Artist of the Year. Miranda Lambert took home the Female Vocalist of the Year prize for the fourth year in a row, making her only the third artist ever (after country legends Reba McEntire and Loretta Lynn) to win the honor four or more times. Talk about fringe benefits! While stars like Taylor Swift and Zooey Deschanel have made heavy bangs a part of their signature hairstyles, Michelle Obama and Kim Kardashian have hopped on the trend, too, by incorporating the brow-skimming addition to each of their ‘dos. Their trick: Unexpected frizz is the sworn enemy of layered bangs, so to lock out the elements, apply an anti-frizz cream onto damp strands, then blow-dry using a round brush to work the product into hair. Plus, if you haven’t tried the look yet but are considering it, we have even more celebrity bangs in our Hollywood Makeover Tool, so you can see yourself in bangs before heading to the salon.
