It’s bikini season, and the stars are showing off their new swimwear in sunny spots around the world. Olivia Wilde took a break from her busy schedule to enjoy the Hawaiian sun with fiancé Jason Sudeikis, while Serena Williams headed to Miami for a bit of rest and relaxation after she won the French Open. Esther Williams, often called “America’s Mermaid,” passed away yesterday at the age of 91 at her home in Beverly Hills. Williams swam onto the big screen in films like Million Dollar Mermaid, Jupiter’s Darling, and multiple MGM films, became the godmother of synchronized swimming, and was one of the most popular pinups of the ’50s and ’60s. It was hard to spot Williams out of a fabulous piece of swimwear—she even starting designing her own line, still popular today—and her legacy will remain as one of the most infamous underwater ballerinas the world has ever seen. So, in honor of her aquatic life, we’ve gathered seven vintage-inspired suits that are sure to make a splash. Click to see the Esther-inspired picks.
Summer is heating up, and that can only mean one thing—stars are heading to the beach! Gabi Gregg of GabiFresh.com is the go-to source for full-figure fashion inspiration—we love her tips so much she writes a “Full Figure Flair” page every month for InStyle—and now she took her wisdom to a whole new level. This month, she teamed up with Swimsuits For All to design and launch a five-piece swimwear line for sizes 10 through 24. “I really just wanted a collection that was young, bright and fresh,” she told InStyle.com. “I love neon colors on the beach, and they were so hard to find in my size!” As a result, her pieces are pumped with lime green, hot pink, and pretty prints. “Nothing beats bright colors on the beach,” she said. “I hope this line helps bridge the gap for younger women who have been looking for on-trend pieces that make them feel stylish and beautiful.” Click through the gallery to get a closer look, and shop the items for $49 to $99 on swimsuitsforall.com.
