This weekend a little sporting event called the Super Bowl happened here on the East Coast, and celebrities flocked to Manhattan to celebrate all weekend. From pre-game day events to sitting in the stands, stars like Hugh Jackman, Chrissy Teigen, Stacy Keibler, and more soaked up the fun at various football festivities, but that’s not all that went down on Instagram. Plenty more celebrities were enjoying their weekend and took the social media app to share their favorite moments! Click through the gallery to see eleven of the best ‘grams from the weekend.
Bruno Mars’ halftime performance during Super Bowl XLVIII was certainly one of the most exciting moments of the night, outfits included! The singer took to the stage in style, as Mars and his band wore shiny gold, slim-fitting blazers with leather lapels, custom made by Saint Laurent. Paired with slacks, skinny ties, and patent-leather lace-ups also designed by the French fashion brand, the group looked retro glam for their big show. Mars brought extreme energy to the event, singing a medley of several of his hits including “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Treasure,” accompanied by a light show and fireworks display.
The Seahawks’ winning night was full of several other major fashion moments—American soprano Renée Fleming sang the National Anthem in a custom Vera Wang ensemble, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman Anthony Kiedis joined Mars for his halftime spectacular in printed leggings by Jeremy Scott, and football legend Joe Namath stepped out to make the coin toss in a massive fur coat.
While we enjoyed all the sartorial moments of the evening, Mars was the definite standout. The crooner scored a fashion touchdown, indeed.

NFL Super Bowl XLVIII is only three days away, and with a stadium-long checklist to get through (like, viewing party invites to sort, a menu to finalize, and finger foods to order), figuring out your Sunday outfit might be the last thing on your mind. But don’t panic—we’ve got you covered. We took the colors from each team—navy, bright green, and silver for the Seahawks; navy and orange for the Broncos—to piece together four chic Super Bowl-ready ensembles that perfectly blend style, comfort and team spirit.
From varsity jackets to foil pencil skirts, see each look for inspiration or shop them out piece by piece to score some major fashion points on Game Day.
Are you hosting a Super Bowl party this weekend? Think outside the pizza box. Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty suggests 3-bite sliders paired with salty fries, served in pretty chevron waxed paper.
Then, it’s onto the sweet stuff! We rounded up some chic gametime-inspired desserts, from mini football cheesecakes to Dana’s Bakery pastel macarons in team colors: Denver Chocolate Peanut Butter vs. Seattle Salted Caramel—yes please! So whether you’re rooting for a team or you’re really only interested in the halftime act, nosh in style. Click through the gallery to get started.
T-minus three days until Super Bowl Sunday, and celebrities are already getting in the spirit. Kate Hudson, for one, isn’t shy about which team she’s rooting for. Between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, the star is all about the latter, proudly topping off her statement color-blocked Fay winter coat with a striped navy-and-orange pom-pom beanie emblazoned with the team mascot Miles. And in doing so, Hudson schools us in the art of looking chic while openly supporting the Broncos, scoring a seriously on-point ensemble that perfectly blends her enthusiasm for football and her natural sense of style.
Raiding the entire NFL store and piecing together a head to toe look is not necessary—if you’re a fan as well, follow Hudson’s lead and keep your zeal in check with one accessory at a time (until Game Day, that is). Scoop up the Broncos pom-pom beanie for $23 at nflshop.com.

It’s official — the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos are going to the Super Bowl! While the boys on each team are surely training for the big event on February 2nd, we’re working out our nail art skills to show our support in the trendiest way possible. InStyle teamed up with MVP manicurist Madeline Poole, who has lacquered up the famous fingers of Rose Byrne, Kate Bosworth, and Ke$ha among many others, to create football-inspired manicures that are easy to try on yourself, and even easier to customize. “Just pick the two or three most dominant colors from the team’s jersey,” she advised. If you’re a nail art rookie, Poole recommends using the base color on all ten digits, and having one accent nail decked out in the design. “That way, you can focus on getting one nail perfect, since lines tend to be a little difficult,” she added. Scroll down to see Poole’s step-by-step tips on tackling each pattern now, then see more of her Super Bowl manicure ideas on page 70 of our February issue. More
Football just got a lot more glam. To celebrate this year’s Super Bowl, Bloomingdale’s has teamed up with the CFDA to create a range of haute couture helmets, all of which will be auctioned off to benefit the NFL Foundation. In addition to the amazing cause — the NFL Foundation works to improve the health and safety of youth sports — we’re also obsessed with the creative toppers from the CFDA’s participating designers, with Alice + Olivia‘s blinged-out version ranking at the top of our fantasy league. That’s why we just had to get all the details from designer Stacy Bendet on how the piece came together! “The inspiration came from a shoe we were doing for spring — we were working on the shoe and helmet at the same time, so I thought, what if we put crystals all over the helmet, too?” she told InStyle.com.
Also of note: The text at the top reading “I don’t have a dirty mind, I have a sexy imagination,” was intended as a tongue-in-cheek nod to the football players’ humor. “It’s actually something I wrote on a chair in one of our stores, and I thought it was funny to include on the helmet and take it into that world. It’s glam and girly, but the saying gives it a football player touch.”
Between laser-cutting the acrylic letters and having a team of staffers and interns hand-glue each of the 4,000 crystals, the helmet took around a week to construct, and in that time, Bendet found a few parallels in fashion and football — despite that the later is more her husband’s game. “Just like there are teams in football, we work together as a team in fashion,” she added. “That’s something we always talk about here. Everyone is part of a team as we’re designing, and you can bring that feel into things.” Visit bloomingdales.com to score one for yourself.
