eBay and BeachMint Team Up for Weeklong Star-Studded Sale

Sep 18, 2012 @ 6:02 pm

The Fashion Vault at eBay just got an upgrade! The online marketplace has teamed up with social commerce endeavor BeachMint for a weeklong sale—now through September 24, which means you can shop collections curated by the celebrities associated with the different arms of the online e-tail umbrella. This includes Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (StyleMint), Kate Bosworth (JewelMint), Rachel Bilson (ShoeMint), Jessica Simpson (BeautyMint), and Justin Timberlake (HomeMint). Each of the stars lend their particular fashion sense to the designs. Mary-Kate talked to eBay’s Inside Source blog about why the pair decided to participate in the collaboration: “When I shop vintage I search for special, one of a kind items. I love how eBay connects you to people and closets you wouldn’t typically have access to.” Be sure to check out the exclusive items they’re offering to buy now on the Fashion Vault, like these navy Mona loafers ($56) from ShoeMint and Rococo Cross Earrings ($21) from JewelMint. Better start clicking before the sale ends Monday!

Carey Mulligan Put Her Fancy Prada Dress on eBay

May 10, 2012 @ 10:40 am

On Monday night, Carey Mulligan wore a glittering gold and silver paillette-covered dress by Prada, one of her favorite designers, to a red carpet event in New York. Two days later—the dress is on eBay! The newlywed actress put the item on the global auction site for charity, promising to donate all proceeds to Oxfam, an international relief and development organization. At the time we published this, there are only six bids placed maxing out at $1,000. Bidding ends May 19th, which means expert eBayers have nine days left to carefully watch the auction and get their bids in at the very last minute (because isn’t that what we all do?). Visit her page at ebay.com to get in on the action.

Toys For Tots Goes Digital!

Nov 20, 2011 @ 8:00 am

Making a donation to Toys for Tots just got even easier, thanks to eBay‘s new high-tech kiosks! “They make it super simple,”Debra Messing, the initiative’s ambassador told InStyle.com “You can just walk down the sidewalk and scan the window and you can feel really great that you’ve done something charitable and you know that 100% of the money is going towards the charity.” Stationed in New York City’s Herald Square and San Francisco’s Union Square, the interactive window displays feature popular toys like trains and teddy bears representing donation amounts from $2 to $25. Window shoppers can download the eBay mobile app to scan QR codes on virtual price tags and make instant donations to the charity. Best of all, those who don’t happen to live near a display can donate via ebay.com.

Derek Lam’s New eBay Collection Includes a Dress Only Available Through iPhones!

May 10, 2011 @ 10:15 am

Designer Derek Lam collaborated with eBay to create a five-piece collection chosen by the online bidding giant’s users, and now the line is available for purchase starting today! EBay users voted on their favorite designs each week, and the winning dresses, which range from $175 to $295, were announced in March. But, Lam decided to add one more design to the collection—a tee dress available exclusively through the eBay Fashion iPhone app. The $125 silk poplin style, shown, comes in sizes 0 through 16. “The weightless fluidity and detail makes the tee shirt dress a versatile piece for a modern feminine summer wardrobe,”  Lam told InStyle exclusively. To pick one up, download the eBay Fashion iPhone app at Apple.com. Check out the rest of the five-piece Derek Lam + eBay collection in the gallery, and shop the looks at DerekLam.ebay.com.
