Hollywood Hair Trend: Prom Tendrils

You don’t need a gown or a date in a rented tux to be the belle of the ball! Kendall Jenner, Sophia Bush, Chloe Moretz, and Gabrielle Union all wore prom-inspired updos that aren’t at all cheesy, thanks to a few loose, face-framing tendrils. Try the look yourself by pulling out a few layers around your face after securing your style. Just loosely wrap strands around a medium-barrel curling iron, twisting the curl outward. Be sure not to wind hair too tight, the goal is to create touchable waves, not tight, structured ringlets. And hairspray is optional—as your tendrils become more undone, a new, prom queen-worthy look takes shape.

Dress up your next ponytail in five seconds flat by pulling your strands over your ears like Sofia VergaraHailee SteinfeldSophia Bush, and Victoria Justice. The look can vary ever so slightly—Bush and Vergara untucked a few loose waves in the front, while Steinfeld and Justice kept every piece perfectly in place. When you try this hairstyle at home, remember: A drop of shine serum (like Josie Maran’s argan oil, $30 at sephora.combefore fastening your ponytail with an elastic will keep strands looking fabulously smooth and in ear-covering place.

Red Carpet Jewelry: Lost and Found

Jan 18, 2011 @ 2:46 pm

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks sparkled in 193 carats worth of Chopard diamonds on her earrings and two bracelets, which added a touch of shine to her red one-shoulder gown by Romona Keveza look. But after she walked the carpet and entered the auditorium, Hendricks noticed that one of her bracelets fell off and went missing, Page Six reports. Thankfully, only briefly! The 124-carat diamond bracelet (bottom bracelet shown inset), estimated at $850,000, was found by an event worker and is now safely back in the hands of Chopard. Celebrity Winter Beauty Secrets

Jan 6, 2011 @ 10:20 am

Beauty routines change with the weather. And now that the temperatures dropped, we caught up with the gorgeous celebrities at the CoverGirl 50th anniversary party in Los Angeles last night to find out their winter beauty secrets. “Always a little concealer,” Drew Barrymore told us of her signature beauty look (no matter the season!). “And always a ton of cover up stuff.” Although Barrymore, who wore a Jil Sander dress, Hunting Season clutch and a Lucifer vir Honestus ring, said it goes beyond that. “But, beauty is within. I don’t care if you’re the most attractive person on the planet. If you’re not good on the inside, it will show. You fall in love with people from the inside out.” See more celebrity winter beauty secrets and other party guests in the gallery.
