Happy birthday, Intermix! The boutique celebrated its 20th anniversary with a bash at the New Musuem in New York last night, and invited their celebrity fans to come and celebrate. Emma Roberts popped in wearing a piece Ohne Titel designed for the store’s 20th anniversary capsule collection (shop it for $498 at intermixonline.com), while Marisa Tomei rushed over from her latest film project to join the festivities and congratulate founder Khajak Keledjian. “I went 20 years ago, when they first opened,” Tomei (in 69 Denim) told InStyle.com. “To see them flourish like this is wonderful.” The highlight of the night, however, came at the very end, when Solange Knowles—clad in silver leaf-covered orange top and pants by Diane Von Furstenberg—got the crowd to their feet with a five-song set. “Who can show me how they can dance?” she asked the party-goers. Cue the hip shaking! Click to see more.

Flashes of flesh are popping up all over the red carpet in the form of cut-out dresses. Stars love this look for its mix of sophistication and sexiness, and we saw plenty of skin-showing styles at the 2013 Met Gala last night. Gwen Stefani showed off her abs in Maison Martin Margiela, Solange Knowles added a pop of stomach in Kenzo, Olivia Wilde bared her belly in Calvin Klein, and Emma Watson favored asymmetry in Prabal Gurung. And that’s not all. Click to see more stars in cut-out dresses—because what’s fiercer than showing a little skin?

Solange Knowles held her own fashion show for her newest music video for “Losing You,” wearing clothes by Suno, Diane von Furstenberg, Opening Ceremony, ASOS, and more. And she didn’t do it alone! The younger Knowles, who styles herself in everyday life, called upon the fashion expertise of sister Beyoncé’s stylist Ty Hunter (inset) to achieve the colorful, downtown-cool look of the video. “Ty is really good at what he does,” Knowles told InStyle.com at the launch of Absolut Tune in New York last night. “But obviously he’s extremely busy [working with my sister]. So I use him for the big dog things—I typically save those Ty cards for videos, though recently I’ve started to work with him a lot more.” For the “Losing You” video, shot in Cape Town, South Africa, the pair styled the looks on-the-go. “We didn’t have changing rooms on set, because a lot of the video was just a drive-by-in-a-van sort of thing,” she told us. “We literally would take our suitcases out around the van and pick out what my friends were going to wear.” See their styling in action by watching the video below.

Solange Knowles famously styles herself—one of the few celebrities to do so—which is why we were excited to see what she would wear to host last night’s Absolut Tune launch party at The Top of the Standard in New York. Her pick: A cut-out satin and chiffon bustier dress by Esteban Cortazar, the former designer of Emanuel Ungaro, who launched his own line in 2010. She snagged the dress impulsively, buying it on net-a-porter.com for $1,280 and utilizing the website’s new premiere same-day delivery service. “Literally, I saw it this morning, and it came in a few hours later,” she told InStyle.com. She built the outfit around its stand-out accessory—a soon-to-be-released mirrored red bag by the up-and-coming New York brand Rauwolf. “I really wanted to wear this clutch,” she said. “I just died when I saw it!” Giuseppe Zanotti sandals completed her look.

Beyoncé’s little sis Solange Knowles knows how to balance her love of fashion—she recently sat front row in Milan and New York—and music. This week she turns her attention to the latter, releasing the first follow-up track and video to her debut album, 2008′s Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, “Losing You.” The video is a visual jackpot for lovers of fashion, co-styled by Solange herself and Beyoncé’s stylist Ty Hunter. Filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, it features high-fashion looks supplied by the likes of Kenzo, Diane von Furstenberg, J.Crew, Suno, and Opening Ceremony. “When I wear something girlish, like pastels, I tend to do it in tailored silhouettes, like menswear-style pants,” she told InStyle of how she picks her looks recently.
