Charlize Theron is InStyle’s June cover girl! She’s a star who’s known for her challenging roles and independent choices—and we caught up to find out exactly what she thinks about being single, being a mom, and being happy. “Motherhood was something I always knew I wanted to experience,” said Theron of son Jackson (she adopted in March). “I can only hope to be 10 percent of the mom mine was to me. She encouraged me to be confident and enjoy life. That’s what I want for my son.” As for love: “I’m always open to a relationship, but I’m not putting those feelers out there now,” the 36-year-old said of being a party of one. “I’m not unhappy with it, but I’m not like, Oh, this is so much better than when I was in a relationship.” Next up, she stars as the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, out June 1st. With the fairytale in mind—though the action movie is anything but—we wondered, what’s her happily ever after? “Getting to do exactly what I want to do and not having to explain it to anyone.” Sounds delightful! Across the pond, Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart opened Snow White and the Huntsmen in London wearing coordinated sheer black gowns. As a representative of Christian Dior, Theron chose a look by the French fashion house with a see-through pleated skirt, while Stewart opted for a hand-stitched lace dress with embroidered skeleton illusion bodysuit by Marchesa. Snow White or Katniss Everdeen: Which Braid Do You Prefer?

Two of next year’s blockbusters will put braids on the big screen in a big way. For Kristen Stewart‘s gritty take on the Snow White tale, Snow White and the Huntsman, she pulls her hair back into braided pony. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence works a loose side braid as Katniss Everdeen for the upcoming movie adaptation of the bestselling book The Hunger Games. Both actresses dyed their hair darker for the parts as well. Cathy Waterman’s jewelry always lands on the red carpet—adorning Nicole Kidman, Leighton Meester, Julia Roberts, and more—and now her pieces are headed to the big screen! Waterman designed a special collection of pieces for next year’s release of Snow White and the Huntsman. The Evil Queen, played by Charlize Theron, can be seen in the trailer wearing a pair of 22k recycled gold vine frame earrings with black sapphires and diamonds. Sounds like a match made in fairytale heaven!

Lily Collins—who dyed her hair “black as night” for the part—plays the lead, while Julia Roberts portrays a witty and cunning version of The Evil Queen. The charming Armie Hammer is on board as the Prince. In the short clip, we get to see so much—a closer look at Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen with her liquid mirror, shots of Kristen Stewart as a horseback-riding Snow White (with lips as red as blood and hair as black as night), her sexy Huntsman played by Chris Hemsworth, and lots of woodsy battle scene action.
