The holiday season is just around the corner, and while some have it billed as the most wonderful time of the year, when it comes to shopping, the packed stores and massive lines can also make it the most stressful time of the year. It’s that time of year once again: New York City’s grandest department stores are revealing their elaborate, jaw-dropping holiday window displays, and this year may be even more glamorous than the last. Tiffany & Co., Barneys New York, Henri Bendel, and many other retailers have turned their storefront windows into magical holiday storyboards, drawing in thousands of customers who come to marvel at the creativity.
With each holiday season, the themes to the store windows change (some take an entire year to conceptualize) and this year, they range from Bergdorf Goodman’s icy spin on holidays, like April Fool’s Day (yes, it’s suppose to be upside down!), Lord & Taylor’s homage to memorable family traditions (like visiting Santa Claus), and Bloomingdale’s global tour of holiday shopping from New York City to Italy. This year’s holiday windows are a sight you don’t want to miss!

Kiehl’s famed Creme de Corps body lotion is one of our go-to products all year long, and with the increasing chill to the air, an extra layer of the hydrating formula does the body good. In time for the holidays, the beauty brand is taking an extra step to do even more good by teaming up with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. By purchasing a jar of the Kiehl’s Creme de Corps whipped body butter, you can take a step to end childhood hunger in the United States — up to $100,000 from all net proceeds will benefit the No Kid Hungry cause, which provides additional meals to children in need. One jar provides 380 meals, and in addition to the amazing cause it benefits, we’re also loving the festive drawing adorning the lid by 11 year-old Sofie Shore, daughter of Share Our Strength’s co-founder Debbie Shore. Pick up the Creme de Corps whipped body butter, available in either grapefruit or coriander, for $38 at kiehls.com.
Barbie has undergone a holiday makeover, thanks to famed milliner Stephen Jones. As the latest designer to take on Barbie, Jones has created head-to-toe couture looks for the doll, which will be sold exclusively at Selfridges in London. The British hat maker has designed five custom looks for Barbie in homage to the holiday season: Happy Holly Barbie, Toffee Ice Barbie, Snow Globe Barbie, Santa Baby Barbie, and Christmas Tree Barbie (she lights up!). The milliner—a favorite of Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham, and Rihanna—not only created statement fascinators for Barbie, but embraced the holiday theme for each of her overall looks. “Barbie is the most fabulous private client. She came into the salon for her Christmas morning hat and left with five glamorous outfits!,” Jones said in a statement. “Barbie and I have the same design vision; we love tradition, but have an eye for the future.” Jones joins a long list of fashion designers and brands who have dressed the doll, including Hervé Léger, Coach, Prada, Burberry, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. These holiday-decked Barbie dolls have certainly got us in the seasonal spirit. Look for them starting November 15th for $399 at Selfridges and selfridges.com.
