Product With a Purpose: Ben Affleck for TOMS Shoes

May 15, 2013 @ 1:00 pm

Ben Affleck is dipping his toes in TOMS shoes! The star teamed up with the one-for-one shoe company to design limited-edition shoes for men and women that supports his organization, the Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI). Affleck founded ECI in 2010 to help the people of the eastern Congo build up their community so that it can flourish both economically and socially. The shoe represents his organization, as it is inspired by traditional Congolese textiles. “Getting involved in something, helping others, improving the fabric of the universe—I believe that if you do that, even just a little bit, I think you’ll find your life gets better, too,” he said. Visit toms.com to purchase a pair for $59. Not only will TOMS donate a pair of shoes to a child in need in accordance to the company’s one-for-one model, $5 dollars from each sale will be donated toward ECI’s programs for youth and families in the region.

Launch You’ll Love: Horoscope-Inspired Accessories by Charlotte Olympia

Apr 15, 2013 @ 2:30 pm

Here’s a launch anyone who is addicted to reading horoscopes will love (cough, cough, us!): Charlotte Olympia just launched a new collection of 12 shoes and 12 clutches, one to represent each astrological sign. “As with most of my collections, the zodiac is a topic that could easily adapt to a large dose of novelty and fun whilst still being quite classic,” the clever and witty British designer told InStyle (she is a true Gemini, after all!). Click through the gallery to see how the designer represented your sign, and shop the collection—$695 for shoes and $995 for clutches—on net-a-porter.com or call the Charlotte Olympia store (212-744-1842) to place an order.
