We were disappointed to see Shakira‘s remaining contestant, Sasha Allen, exit The Voice last night, but thankfully she kept Sasha’s diva spirit alive with her stylish looks all week. For the live performances on Monday, Shakira styled a dazzling Swarovski necklace as a headpiece to offset her crisp Acqua top. “It fit snugly around her head and we thought it really added to the look,” the judge’s hair guru Kim Kimble exclusively told InStyle.com. Kimble chose to style her hair in a straight style to complement the bejeweled accessory without being distracting. “It’s very noveau bohemian.” The next night, Shakira let her detailed Altuzarra jacket take center stage with a pulled back ‘do in which Kimble curled the judge’s strands and raked them into a high ponytail. “A dab of wax and a little hairspray will help keep the top really smooth and knock out any flyaways and frizz,” says Kimble. Try out the same the same technique to upgrade your gym ponytail and create more volume by simply  teasing the crown of your hair like Kimble did for Shakira. “It was very simple and chic, I like to think of it as couture secretary style,” she added. “The jacket had strong detailed neckline and we wanted to show that off so having hair down wouldn’t have done it justice.” The finale of The Voice airs next Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

It was a sensational week for The Voice powerhouse Sasha Allen, who wowed the coaches with her spot-on vocals. It was fitting then that her coach Shakira went for a matching glam look for the live performances on Monday, and we caught up with her hairstylist Kim Kimble for the inside scoop. “Shakira’s outfit had a ’50s feel, so I thought the hair would complement her look,” Kimble told InStyle.com said of creating a look to match the judge’s Amen ensemble. After setting Shakira’s strands into loose waves, Kimble pulled it all over one shoulder securing the sleek side with a bit of styling wax and bobby pins. “The wax will just help flatten any flyaways and the bobby pins help keep the hair contained to one end,” said Kimble. (Insider tip: Use bobby pins in the same shade as your hair color so they’ll be easily camouflaged.) For the results show, Shakira went back to a pin-straight style. To achieve the look: “Take small sections and run a comb through it first, then follow with a flat iron,” Kimble explained. “That’ll ensure that you don’t miss any stray pieces.” Dab shine serum on the ends to add shine and smoothness.

The contestants were feeling the pressure this week on The Voice! As we saw two singers say goodbye, whittling the group down to eight, we also got the inside scoop on Coach Shakira‘s two looks. In order to embrace the heat of competition (and the blazing temperatures in Los Angeles), Shakira went for full, sexy curls both nights to contrast with her neutral sparkling top by Amen on Monday and her glam Roberto Cavalli design on Tuesday. “It’s been pretty hot in L.A. and we wanted to embrace her natural texture,” the judge’s stylist Kim Kimble told InStyle.com. ”She has naturally thick, curly hair so this look was easy and effortless.” To achieve Shakira’s ‘do, Kimble added a bit of serum to her air-dried hair. Just like that, she was ready to take her seat in her big red coach chair. Gorgeous!
