Shailene Woodley on Not Having Any Fashion Regrets

May 2, 2012 @ 11:00 am

Shailene Woodley refuses to have any fashion regrets. Earlier this year, she proudly wore Vibram FiveFinger shoes to InStyle‘s Golden Globes after-party. And, just this week, she spoke to ASOS magazine about critics of her Valentino gown at the Oscars. “A lot of people didn’t like it,” she said. “They were like, ‘She’s 20, she’s covering herself up, why is she doing that?’ But to me it felt classy and elegant and that’s what I think of when I think of the Oscars. It felt simple and elegant and it still represented who I am.” We love a girl who knows what she likes!

Celebrities love Honor! Medical-student-turned-designer Giovanna Randall launched the label in 2009, and her ultra-feminine creations have been red carpet regulars ever since, most recently appearing on Shailene Woodley at last night’s Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games. “They’re strong, but feminine,” Woodley, who often wears the label, told InStyle.com of Randall’s designs at Honor’s fall 2012 fashion show. “I like the fact that her clothes are feminine with a masculine touch.” Randall agrees: I guess every woman wants to be the mix between being really ladylike and really tough,” the designer told us. I think about that a lot when I design.” Randall describes her ideal customer as a “strong woman who isn’t afraid to be noticed, but does’t need to be noticed all the time.” It is a fitting description of her celebrity fan base, which includes Taylor SwiftAhna O’Reilly, Kirsten Dunst, and more. See who else loves wearing Honor in the gallery, and shop the collection at shop.honornyc.com, or at the designer’s New York store (68 Gansevoort Street).

Harry Winston always shines at the Oscars, and last night was no exception. Jessica Chastain and Shailene Woodley glammed up their elaborate gowns with baubles from the famed jeweler, who was the first to loan pieces for the Academy Awards when he adorned Jennifer Jones for the 1943 ceremony. Last night’s red carpet continued the legacy with more than a $5.2 million worth of sparkling stones showcased on five Hollywood stars. Click “See the Photos” to check out the pieces up-close!

SAG Awards 2012 Beauty Trend: Pretty Ponytails!

Jan 30, 2012 @ 11:50 am
PonytailsGetty Images (3); WireImage

Who says ponytails have to be plain? Shailene Woodley, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, and Diane Lane walked the 2012 SAG Awards red carpet last night in elegant, pretty pulled-back styles. Woodley and Lane opted for effortless low looks, while Mays and Vergara wore retro-inspired ‘dos with added volume at the crown. Ponytails are a carefree alternative to the traditional updo. To get the look, start with hair that has been blow-dried smooth, and fasten with an elastic. If you’re worried your hair will fall flat, give strands a blast of dry shampoo or volumizing spray at the root to create extra lift.

Plus, see what everyone wore to the SAG Awards in the gallery!
