It’s Happening! Marc Jacobs Announces Release Date for His Beauty Line

The wait is almost over! Last April, Marc Jacobs announced that he was expanding his beauty empire with the addition of color cosmetics, and now, you can officially save the date for August 9. Jacobs broke the news with an Instagram shot of the line’s website, which features a clock counting down to the big day. Judging from the lacquers we previewed at Fashion Week, and Sofia Coppola’s Met Ball look using the makeup, the range is shaping up to be as big of a hit as the designer’s fragrance catalog. Sephora to Stock Special Line Inspired by 2013′s Color of the Year, Emerald

It’s easy being green thanks to Sephora and Pantone’s latest collaboration. Following the success of last year’s Tangerine Tango Color of the Year capsule line, the beauty mega-store is rolling out a new line of products decked out in 2013′s color of the year—emerald green. “Emerald evokes power and possibility, which are two things women should feel when they wear makeup,” Sephora Pro lead artist Gilbert Soliz said of the flattering jewel tone. “What I love about this year’s collection is that it’s electrifying and modern. Emerald will energize the way you think and feel about color.” The lineup boasts an impressive range of nail polishes, eye shadows, liquid liners, and false lashes, as well as a handful of lip glosses designed to complement the rich jewel tone. The products, priced from $10 for a nail lacquer to $68 for a six-piece gift set, will land at Sephora stores and sephora.com in March.

First Look: Sephora’s Princess Jasmine Collection!

Princess Jasmine from Aladdin is the latest Disney princess to get a beauty line! Following Sephora’s first Disney collaboration for a Cinderella-inspired line, the retailer is launching “a whole new world” of rich jewel tones inspired by Agrabah’s leading lady for spring. Jasmine’s range includes fragrance, a nail polish set, compact mirror, eye shadow quad, a kohl liner trio, and scented body powder. The standout in the offerings? A 17-shade Storybook palette, which uses actual colors from the film stills repurposed as eye shadow. The Princess Jasmine collection hits Sephora stores and sephora.com in March. And since all the products are $55 and under, you can save your three wishes for Cinderella’s killer pair of Louboutins.

Found It! Lucy Hale’s Sheer Coral Lipstick

Coral lipstick is a great hue for summer, and if you steer clear of a too-heavy finish like Lucy Hale, the shade gets a cool weather makeover. “I decided to do a subtle match with Lucy’s makeup to her gorgeous orange top,” said her makeup artist Nick Barose, who used Sephora’s Color Lip Last in Go For Pink. “Normally I hate matching makeup to clothes, but for the holidays it’s kind of perfect and more festive that way.” Instead of completely coating Hale’s lips in an opaque hue, Barose stuck to a light wash of color with a shiny finish. “I dabbed the product on directly from the tube, blotted it to keep it sheer, then added a similar-toned coral gloss.” Great tip! Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are launching their first scent! The duo’s label, Elizabeth and James, will be teaming up with Sephora to create a signature fragrance, set to hit shelves this March. There is no word yet on the aroma, but we’d love to see a combination of floral notes with a hint of spice. Perhaps, a homage to their contrasting personalities?
