Scarlett Johansson is going to be a mom! Congratulations are in order for the actress and her French journalist fiancé Romain Dauriac, who are expecting their first child together. The pair have been engaged since last summer, and the news of their impending nuptials went public when Johansson debuted her dazzling engagement ring on the red carpet in September. Johansson always impresses us with her classic yet sexy looks on the red carpet, and we can’t wait to see what she wears during her pregnancy. We couldn’t be happier for the parents-to-be.
Whether she opts for vibrant shades or chic neutrals on the red carpet, Scarlett Johansson always wears styles that complement her killer curves. “I like an Old Hollywood look,” she told us in 2010 about the vintage 40′s and 50′s silhouettes that inspire her fashion choices. So tell us, do you prefer when the actress goes full-on bombshell in a sweeping Valentino gown or fun and flirty in a waist-cinching Roland Mouret cocktail dress? Let us know which look you love the most by voting in the poll below and stay tuned for InStyle‘s April issue where the results will be revealed!
The Best Celebrity Duo Ad Campaigns, Including the Latest: Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey for Dolce & GabbanaOct 10, 2013 @ 10:30 am
It is a rare occasion that two major celebrities star in an ad campaign together, so we were surprised (in a really good way) when we saw this — the latest from Dolce & Gabbana. Just in case you needed confirmation: Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey make quite a beautiful couple. The two faces of the brand appear alongside one another for the newly released campaign for The One his-and-hers fragrances. Shot by Peter Lindbergh, the campaign depicts the actors in timeless locations from New York to Hollywood to Rome. If the fragrance smells half as good as they look, we’re sold!
Who else gets our vote for campaign power couple? Real-life loves Sienna Miller and musician fiance Tom Sturridge worked it for Burberry’s fall 2013 campaign (loving this video of the two), while Chris Pine and Evan Rachel Wood’s close-up was so steamy it almost had us convinced they were a pair in Gucci’s Guilty fragrance ad campaign in 2012. But let’s not forget the couple that started it all: the Beckhams took Armani’s underwear to new heights by fronting the brand’s 2009 campaign (fast-forward to 0:58 to see the duo in action).

You’ve never seen a love story quite like Don Jon, opening nationwide today. The film, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Tony Danza, is a classic romance with an XXX-rated twist. The lead character, Jon (Gordon-Levitt), falls in love with a girl (Johansson) and all is well… until his porn addiction gets in the way. (We saw it—it’s not as dirty as it sounds, but it’s definitely dirty and full of chuckle-worthy moments.) The story itself was born out of JGL’s mind—he not only starred in the film, he wrote and directed it, as well. We caught up with the 32-year-old earlier this year when he first premiered the movie at the Sundance Film Festival, and he told us it’s an indescribable feeling to see his vision come to life. His advice? You can do it, too. ”A lot of people have it in them [to do something like this] and are discouraged and it really is a lot about perseverance,” he said. “I had the first seeds of this idea probably four years ago, now it’s here.” Scroll down to listen in on more of our conversation with JGL about his new flick, Don Jon, and catch it in theaters starting today, Friday, September 27.
The Toronto International Film Festival officially ends today. To wrap up what has been ten days of premieres, screenings, cast Q&As and parties, may we present InStyle’s take — portraits of stars in the most buzzworthy films. We sent seasoned photographer Henny Garfunkel up to set up a pop-up photo studio inside the Windsor Arms Hotel, where she shot photographs of stars in over 40 films at the festival, including Julia Roberts, Julianne Nicholson and Juliette Lewis of August: Osage County and Olivia Wilde of Third Person. Scarlett Johansson had three films there — Under the Skin, Her and Don Jon — an incentive that led her to make her first return to TIFF in ten years, and her first-ever appearance in InStyle’s portrait studio. “It’s nice to be back,” she told Senior Entertainment Editor Karen Levy. “It’s a nice festival. The city is well-equipped for a festival of this size.” Her favorite part? “It’s also not so crowded each place. It’s big enough that you feel like you can still get a restaurant reservation,” she joked. Click to see more photographs by Henny Garfunkel and what the stars had to say about their new films.
Tony Danza, Scarlett Johansson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julianne Moore and Jeremy Luke Celebrate the Don Jon Premiere in New YorkSep 13, 2013 @ 5:09 pm
Last night, the stars of the upcoming film Don Jon came out to celebrate its New York City premiere sponsored by Entertainment Weekly at the SVA Theater. The women of the film–including newly engaged Scarlett Johansson, in a mint Roland Mouret silk frock, and Julianne Moore, dressed in a sheer embroidered black Jason Wu gown–stole the show from the guys as they shined on the red carpet. But the night truly belonged to Joseph Gordon-Levitt who not only stars in the new comedy, but was the writer and director of a film, which follows womanizer Jon Martello, or Don Jon, who has unrealistic relationship expectations from watching pornography. Enter Barbara Sugarman (Johansson), a hopeless romantic who completely changes Martello’s game and the two soon find themselves comically trying to make their relationship work. The film also stars Tony Danza and Jeremy Luke, and as Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, we have a feeling it’s going to be a good one! Don Jon opens in theaters everywhere on September 27th.

More than just Scarlett Johansson’s new film Under the Skin premiered at the 70th Venice International Film Festival yesterday—so did her new engagement ring! With everyone abuzz as Johansson hit the red carpet in a sexy black Versace gown and Bulgari statement necklace, you might have been too distracted to notice the new piece of bling on the actress’s ring finger: a beautiful Art Deco dazzler. The unique piece features three round diamonds surrounded by a vintage, rectangular setting and more diamonds set on a delicate band. Johansson and her fiancé, French journalist Romain Dauriac, have been together since November 2012 and engaged for about a month. Congrats, Scarlett and Romain! Now that you’ve seen the rock up close, tell us, what do you think?

The fashion world is in mourning: Annabel Tollman, former fashion director and stylist to the stars, passed away in her sleep last week at age 39. The British stylist became known for her her ability to highlight the female figure, which led her to dress a range of body types and personalities in Hollywood, including Scarlett Johansson (in Valentino), Anne Hathaway (in Nina Ricci), the Olsen twins, and Kristen Wiig (in J. Mendel). Her sartorial vision, her keen eye, and her old-Hollywood glamour aesthetic will be missed. In her memory, click to see several of the memorable celebrity looks she put together for the red carpet.
