With baby fever taking over the United Kingdom (and the world, for that matter), let us not forget about the other Princess who knows how to make a powerful fashion statement: Princess Beatrice. Ever since her “hat moment” at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s nuptials two years ago, she’s upped her style game by hiring a stylist (that would be Charlie Anderson) and wearing some of the biggest names in British fashion (like Roksanda Ilincic and Jonathan Saunders). Click through to see what she’s been up to.

This Is What a Queen Looks Like! Meet Queen Maxima of the Netherlands

Royal lovers, turn your attention away from baby-fever Britain for a second and give it up for a new Queen in town—literally. The Netherlands welcomed their new king and queen yesterday, as Queen Beatrix abdicated her position after 33 years on the throne, to make way for Beatrix’s son Prince Willem-Alexander. By marriage, the woman at the top is Argentina-born Princess Maxima, who the Prince married in 2002. They have three children together and one powerful future, which we hope is filled with lots of diamond-covered tiaras, epic estate jewelry, and fabulous European fashion.

Time has flown by! We can’t believe it’s already been two years since we saw Prince William and Catherine Middleton walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey and say their “I Dos.” And their lives (and ours!) haven’t been the same since: The gown Kate wore by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen became a museum piece, her maid of honor Pippa Middleton shot into the spotlight thanks to her backside that very day, the Duchess became a style icon with her her every move tracked (and eventually selling out), and finally, the love keeps going now that the blissful couple now have a baby on the way. But it all started April 29, 2011. Click through the gallery to remember the glorious day.

Oct 26, 2012 @ 11:28 am

Pending royal wedding alert! Princess Madeleine of Sweden, the 30-year-old daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, is engaged to 38-year-old New York-based British financier Christopher O’Neill. The two met stateside in the Big Apple, and the news was first reported by a Swedish tabloid earlier this week. The couple then took to the official Swedish royal Web site to announce their betrothal in a video. “Chris proposed to me in New York at the start of October, and we are very happy,” Madeleine said in the video, recorded Wednesday at the Drottningholm Palace outside of Stockholm. It’s been a big week for royal betrothals, with Princess Stephanie getting married (in an Elie Saab gown!) to His Royal Highness Prince Guillame of Luxembourg on Monday. There was a royal wedding this weekend! Belgian Countess Stephanie of Lannoy wed His Royal Highness Prince Guillame of Luxembourg at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Luxembourg on Saturday—yes, this means she’s a princessin an haute couture creation by celebrity-favorite Lebanese designer Elie Saab. The gown featured ivory lace embroidered with silver thread leaves, three-quarter length sleeves, a silk tulle veil that was also embroidered, and a more than 12-foot-long train. According to a statement from the designer, it required 3,200 hours of work and embroidery, plus 700 additional hours of sewing. That’s 162.5 days of work! A gorgeous tiara completed the look, which accessorized her low chignon hairstyle. Just a day before, the Countess wore another Elie Saab—gray lace dress in a similar style to her wedding gown—for their civil ceremony. Two couture looks in two days? She truly is a princess now.

It’s been over a year, and people are still talking about That Wedding! In a new special airing in the United Kingdom next week, Prince William admits that he barely slept the night before he walked down the super-long aisle at Westminster Abbey to wed his bride Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. ”[The crowds] were singing and cheering all night long, so the excitement of that, the nervousness of me and everyone singing—I slept for about half an hour,” he said, Us Weekly reports. Knowing millions of people would be watching around the world, we’re not sure we would’ve caught any ZZZs, either! Tell us: Did you sleep before your wedding day or did adrenaline take over?
