Having a Moment: Oblivion Star Olga Kurylenko on the Red Carpet

To Oblivion, and beyond! That’s where Olga Kurylenko and her co-star Tom Cruise have been promoting their action-packed sci-fi flick, which hits theaters nationwide April 19. And for the movie’s global red carpet tour, the 33-year-old Ukrainian born actress has proven herself a darling of the fashion world, with some of the biggest labels dressing her every appearance. In Moscow, she picked a lilac Elie Saab Haute Couture floral embroidered dress; in Dublin, she went sleek with an emerald column by Roland Mouret; in London, she donned a black lace-trim Marchesa; and in Los Angeles, she picked a plunging embroidered satin Burberry design. And her love of fashion is newly-acquired: “I now understand this thing about taking care of yourself before leaving the house, no matter where you go,” she told InStyle last spring. Even when she travels, too: “I was getting ready to leave [on a flight], and my boyfriend asked me, ‘Why don’t you put on sneakers?’ And I said, ‘No way!’ I had on high-heeled boots. Heels were something that just didn’t exist for me before. But now I feel like I’m a woman.”

3 Tips for Dressing Your Curves Like Katy Perry

Feb 1, 2013 @ 12:23 pm

Katy Perry isn’t afraid to play up her famous assets, often sporting ensembles by Roland Mouret. In InStyle’s February issue, the singer’s go-to designer gave us tips on dressing a curvy body. See below for his advice!

1. Mind the middle: “Defining your waist is essential.”
2. Consider a modest neckline: “A scoop or boatneck only hints at what’s underneath and balances a top-heavy frame.”
3. Be bold: “A vibrant color or quirky pattern provides head-to-toe interest, as opposed to directing the viewer’s attention to just one particular area of your figure.”

For more advice from Mouret and other designers to the stars, flip to page 144 of InStyle’s February issue. On the go? Download the issue on your iPad, Nook, or Droid tablet!

Abbie Cornish: Who Wouldn’t Love Working with a Stylist?

Ever wonder what it’s like to have a professional stylist create a perfect look just for you? “Heaps of fun!” according to Abbie Cornish, whose new crime comedy, Seven Psychopaths comes out tomorrow. She has loads of public appearances to promote the film, and every event requires a new look. So she teamed up with uber-stylist Jessica Paster—who also works with Emily Blunt and Jenna Dewan-Tatum—to help her pick out her wow-worthy ensembles, like the Roland Mouret, Reem Acra, Giulietta, and Emilio Pucci outfits above, from left to right. “I love working with a stylist who knows what’s good and what isn’t, what’s right for your body and what isn’t,” Cornish told InStyle.com at the after-party for her movie at No. 8 in New York City, hosted by the Cinema Society & Hugo Boss. “I’ve gone through phases where I’ve done it myself, and it’s such hard work. To try on a bunch of clothes and pick out an outfit with another girl is heaps of fun. Who doesn’t want that?” Choosing the Roland Mouret gown for last night’s New York premiere was a “no-brainer,” she said. “This dress is so easy to wear, and it’s beautiful–kind of like a painting,” she added. “Roland Mouret shapes dresses for women so beautifully. He just totally gets the woman’s body and accentuates it. I’m a big fan.
