American Idol Season 11 Ends: Jennifer Lopez’s Sexiest Outfits

American Idol’s finale aired last night—congratulations, Phillip Phillips!—and thanks to Jennifer Lopez, Season 11 may have been the show’s sexiest yet. The former Fly Girl took the stage in everything from rhinestone-encrusted leotards to cut-out bandage dresses, a wardrobe that her stylists tell us takes a lot of prep work. “There are at least 50 shoes to choose from every week, and about 5 racks of clothes,” Lopez’s stylist Mariel Haenn told InStyle.com. “[Picking a dress is] a real game time decision,” said Rob Zangardi, the other half of the pop star’s styling team. “We bring all the options to Idol and then she jumps right in. Two minutes before is when we know what she’s wearing.” Some of Lopez’s sexiest snap decision looks: a semi-sheer silver studded Blumarine dress, a sleek almond leather Reem Acra shift, a curve-hugging metallic bandage Herve Leger look, and an iridescent bodysuit by The Blonds. Did you catch Jennifer Lopez on American Idol last night? The judge said goodbye to contestant Jacob Lusk, leaving four finalists in the competition: Lauren, Scotty, James and Haley. Just before the elimination, Lopez brought her signature sparkle to a performance of her new single, “On the Floor.” She smashed two dancers out of glass cases and shimmied on a rising platform in glittery harem pants and a silver beaded corset top with fringed epaulets by Zuhair Murad. “Who’s excited for @jlo ‘s performance on @AmericanIdol tonight! RT and Watch!!! Its gonna be so good!” Tweeted Rob Zangardi, one half of her styling team, just before the show. Did you catch Jennifer Lopez‘s outfits on American Idol last week? The judge sparkled from behind the judges’ table, and we have all of her outfit details here just for you! For Wednesday’s 21st Century Song competition episode, Lopez wore loose silk sparkle box shape tee by Madewell, available online at Madewell.com for $295 (shown). The following night, she fought back tears as contestant Stefano Langone got voted off in a black textured Roberto Cavalli dress, and she accessorized with a stack of bracelets and boots by Christian Louboutin. Stylists Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi put together the looks. Cute!

Jennifer Lopez’s American Idol Outfits: Top 9 Week!

Jennifer Lopez had her Twitter fans help her decide what to wear for the last two weeks of American Idol, and she’s listening to their advice! “What should I wear on @americanidol tonight? #creamwithgold or #sparklywithtulle?” she Tweeted before the Top 9 episode. She ended up choosing the cream with gold option, but she picked sparkly with tulle for the next time around, shown right. The feminine frock is by Georges Chakra Couture, made with Chantilly lace and a Swarovski crystal bodice. We love how she added a crystal barrette to match the dress! For elimination night, Lopez chose a golden bronze dress by Gucci, and added color by painting her lips an orange-red tint. “@jlo looks amazing!,” Tweeted Rob Zangardi, one half of her styling team, after the show. Zangardi put together the looks with styling partner Mariel Haenn.

InStyle received a lot of emails asking what Jennifer Lopez wore during this week’s American Idol Elton John-themed episodes, and we scored all the exclusive details just for you! We caught up with Lopez’s lovely styling team—Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn—to find out what she wore and why. For Wednesday, March 30th, Lopez wore a Mark+James by Badgley Mischka purple, pink, and gold sequin one-shoulder dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Vahan jewelry. “The dress fit her body perfectly,” Haenn said of the look. “She looked amazing!” On Thursday, March 31st, the team dressed Lopez in a vintage black dress. “Jennifer is so good at making vintage clothes look fresh and new,” Zangardi told us. As for her accessories, she wore Jimmy Choo shoes, Hellmuth earrings, and MCL by Matthew Campbell Laurenza bracelets. Gorgeous!

Jennifer Lopez pulled out another amazing wardrobe during American Idol’s Motown-themed episodes on March 23rd 24th, and InStyle has all of the exclusive details! We caught up with her magnificent styling team, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn to find out what she wore—and why. On Wednesday, Lopez wore a Rodarte for Opening Ceremony skirt, Dries Van Noten sequin top, Ruthie Davis shoes, and Stephen Webster jewelry. “Jennifer looks so great in light colors, and she loved the short flirty skirt,” Haenn told InStyle of the look. On Thursday, she reached for a black and gold dress and shoes by Gucci and jewelry by Amrita Singh. “We’ve been waiting for the perfect time to showcase this dress,” Zangardi explained, “Jennifer always looks so hot in Gucci! The gold chain detail was our favorite part.” Ours, too!

Did you love Jennifer Lopez’s outfits on American Idol this week as much as we did? That’s why we caught up with Lopez’s superstar stylist Rob Zangardi to get the inside scoop on her looks. For Wednesday’s competition, Lopez wore an animal print dress and waist-cinching belt by Blumarine and Gucci shoes. “We loved the ease of this dress but the drama of it even more—off the shoulder and the shape of a T-shirt, but the look and feel of a gown,” Zangardi told InStyle. “Plus, everyone loves an animal print!” As for her look for last night’s elimination round, Lopez wore a white vintage dress with textured sleeves designed by Janey Lopaty. “It’s always fun to make a vintage dress look new and modern,” Zangardi said. “The lace detail on the collar and sleeves were really beautiful.” She finished with snakeskin platform stilettos by Christian Louboutin “to edge up the look” and baubles from the Beverly Hills jewelry store Azaara.
