Last night’s Grammys red carpet was filled with ladies in gorgeous metallics, but two of the stars who shined the brightest were Ciara and Rita Ora, both who were coincidently styled by the same gent, Jason Rembert. “Metallic is a big trend for the season,” he tells InStyle.com. “They’re both fashion-forward girls and they don’t care to be on trend, but it’s amazing when the can and still feel true to themselves.” And that they did.
Mom-to-be Ciara was absolutely radiant in a custom-made Emilio Pucci dress, which according to Rembert took about a month and a half to create. “We worked closely with Pucci designer Peter Dundas and had it fitted in Milan,” says Rembert. “We just wanted it to be perfect. We were all blown away and it’s amazing when you work on something for such a long time and you’re still in love with it at the time of the event.”
For Ora the process was less time intensive, but equally as rewarding. A huge fan of Lanvin, Rembert and Ora worked to find the perfect piece, deciding to stray away from her signature long trains. “I think Rita is moving more into womanhood,” continues Rembert. “We try and keep it balanced between her being a fun girl and being polished woman, and we felt like we got it with this look.” However, it wasn’t just the glittering absinthe-green dress that caught her eye – her rings were equally as dazzling. “The eight rings we chose really symbolize her,” he says. “From the beautiful elephant to the gorgeous flowers, they were very glamorous.” To see both Ciara and Ora’s looks up close take a look at our Grammys fashion gallery.
