Victoria Beckham is the “Most Searched Fashion Designer” of 2013, Followed by Michael Kors and Ralph LaurenDec 2, 2013 @ 3:39 pm
Victoria Beckham can add another accomplishment to her long list of achievements—Bing has just announced that the former Spice Girl star was the “Most Searched Fashion Designer” of the year. In Bing’s Top Searches for 2013, fashion icon and designer Beckham took the crown, which may have something to do with the fact that she launched e-commerce in May, just one aspect of Beckham’s push to expand her namesake brand. Beckham beat out last year’s winner, Project Runway judge Michael Kors, who fell to the #2 most searched designer of the year. Rounding out the top three on the competitive list is longtime designer Ralph Lauren, who moved up a spot from 2012.

Sunday night’s American Music Awards felt like the ultimate concert and fashion show in one, complete with performances by Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, and many more. For starters, Taylor Swift, looking golden in a Julien Macdonald mini-dress, took home four awards, including the night’s top honor: Artist of the Year. Swift set an AMAs record, being the first person to ever win the award three times. “Winning Artist of the Year for the third time is kind of a little bit mind numbingly unbelievable, it is a little bit hard to absorb all at once,” Swift told InStyle.com. “It’s amazing, and the fact that it’s fan voted makes it that much better. This year has been unreal for me with this album. I don’t expect things to do well, just by default, so for this to happen is just wonderful.”
Another big winner was Rihanna, who was given the AMA’s first Icon Award, along with an award for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist. Wearing a sexy Jean Paul Gaultier look, the singer was presented the award by her mother, Monica Fenty, who told her daughter how proud she was of her success. “I know the journey in your career has not always been an easy one,” Fenty said onstage. She had more kind words for her successful daughter: “I applaud you and admire you for being so strong and so positive and so humble and so focused.”
One of the most interesting moments of the evening? Lady Gaga rode down the red carpet atop a large, white, human-operated costume horse, wearing the exact same lavender Versace dress she wore in a campaign for the fashion house, released the day prior. Timberlake took home three awards at the fan-voted awards show, while Ariana Grande won New Artist of the Year and One Direction nabbed two awards including Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group.
After walking the red carpet in a white pantsuit at the beginning of the evening, Miley Cyrus, who turned 21 the day before the show, closed the night with an emotional performance of “Wrecking Ball,” which surprisingly included a giant lip-syncing kitten in the background. Dressed in a two-piece cat-adorned ensemble, the singer proved her skills by flawlessly belting out her hit, while the giant cat was floating onscreen behind her, even crying in zero-gravity at one point. Check out the complete list of AMAs winner’s here.

Rihanna has chopped her locks! Never one to shy away from a hair risk, the singer took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal her shorter cut with layered fringe. “Rihanna wanted something different, edgy, and fun, but simple at the same time,” Motions Celebrity Stylist Ursula Stephen told InStyle.com exclusively. “We don’t like neat or perfect hair — that balance of perfectly-imperfect has always been our thing.” Stephen has worked with the star for years, and duo has experimented with almost every style from a chic pixie to lengthy red strands. If Rihanna has you inspired to make a similar change, Stephen recommends paying extra attention to the little details. “The ends should be bumped tightly using a curling iron,” she added.

Pink, Taylor, Rihanna, and Carrie, oh my! Four of the music industry’s biggest female stars have received nominations for the 2013 American Music Awards, and it’s Taylor Swift (who just so happens to be InStyle‘s November cover girl) who leads the pack of women with the most nominations with five — yes five — noms this year. Aside from the awards themselves, we’re looking forward to seeing what these four ladies will wear to wow us on the red carpet like they usually do. Judging by past AMA looks, we’re confident they won’t disappoint! At last year’s award show, we loved Swift’s floral embroidered Zuhair Murad frock, which was a nice departure from the 23-year-old’s oft-favored long gowns. Fellow country star and this year’s Favorite Female Country Artist nominee Carrie Underwood also wore an embroidered dress that year, but she went with a bold color, choosing an electric purple Abed Mahfouz. Pink, who is nominated in two categories this year, kept her look at last year’s awards demur, walking the carpet in a bronze Catherine Deane gown featuring a laser-cut bodice. And last but certainly not least, Rihanna — who trails Taylor by one nomination — has been absent from the awards show for the past two years, but it’s hard to forget her stunning scarlet sheer and floral embroidered Elie Saab gown at the 2010 awards. For the full list of nominees, visit theamas.com (where you can also vote for your favorite artist) and catch the 2013 American Music Awards November 24, airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The new RiRi Hearts MAC collection is in stores now, and we have exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and quotes from Rihanna! What’s to love? Aside from the gorgeous gold metallic packaging, we’re obsessed with the lipsticks ($16.50 at maccosmetics.com beginning September 30th) in deep raisin, bright orange and creamy nude and a shiny LipGlass version of classic RiRi Woo ($16.50 at maccosmetics.com beginning September 30th), as well as the super-flattering blush, Bad Girl Gone Good ($23 at maccosmetics.com beginning September 30th). Of being the first ever Creative Partner to MAC, Rihanna tells us, “As a brand, MAC Cosmetics always has fun while taking risks. We are in the same in that way, and they certainly recognized that. It’s a natural marriage, as we are both not afraid to show our point of views.” Click through the photos to see Rihanna on her recent trip to Hong Kong and visit to the MAC Elements store, as well as her day-off look and makeup must-haves.
