Washington, D.C. was the most popular place to be this weekend! Some of the biggest names in Hollywood jetted to the nation’s capital to catch a glimpse of President Obama for the 98th Annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and the oodles of cocktail parties that came along with it. After garnering plenty of laughs as host of the event—where Reese Witherspoon (in Monique Lhuillier) mingled with New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand—comedian Jimmy Kimmel ventured over to the French Ambassador’s house for the Bloomberg andVanity Fair reception, along with Sofia Vergara (in David Meister), Kate Hudson (in Jenny Packham), George Clooney, and Kerry Washington (in Calvin Klein). “I thought the POTUS [President of the United States] was hilarious,” Tweeted Washington. “It was a wonderful weekend.” See more stars at the weekend’s hottest events—D.C. and beyond—in the gallery.

Easy outfit idea: Break up a monotone look with a bold belt in a different color. This month, Nicole Richie added a patterned style to her sunny Thakoon look, Mila Kunis toughened up a blush pink Dior dress with black leather, Reese Witherspoon reversed hers so the buckle showed in the back, and Kim Kardashian lightened her berry dress with a printed addition. Today is the 101st anniversary of International Women’s Day! In honor of the event, which is a celebration of women worldwide, several exclusive products rolled out to raise money for non-profit organizations. Reese Witherspoon backed Avon‘s new Empowerment Circle of Support necklace ($5), which benefits the Avon Foundation’s global efforts to end violence against women; Diane Von Furstenberg released totes ($40) and iPhone cases ($25) emblazoned with a “Proud to Be Women” print, the sales of which go to Vital Voices, a non-profit that empowers women globally; and Olivia Palermo curated a collection of baked goods for AHAlife, with 15 percent of profits going to Pencils of Promise to build a dormitory for a girls’ school in Laos. Way to go, girls!

Reese Witherspoon Gives New Meaning to ‘Statement Necklace’

At the kickoff to the 2nd World Conference of Women’s Shelters in Washington, D.C., Avon Global Ambassador Reese Witherspoon told reporters that the prevention of domestic violence begins at home. The actress also showed her commitment to the cause when she unveiled Avon’s new Empowerment Circle of Support necklace.
