Long or short, full or streamlined, there was a dress for every bride at Reem Acra’s fall 2013 runway show. Guided by the quote “where the trend starts and the tradition continues,” the label certainly showed something new with modern cocktail numbers and hi-low hem designs mixing with the most classic ballgowns. While the dresses were the true stars, the veils nearly stole the show with some cinched by crystal headbands, others delicately pleated and a few that tented entire gowns to ethereal effect. The final twist: flared tulle that adorned select models’ wrist to create the illusion of bell-sleeves. Check out all of the looks in the gallery.
It’s been a lovely week on Instagram! Our daily feed of fashion, celebrity, and beauty buzz got an extra dose of pretty from Bridal Fashion Week, where our editors snapped from the front row of all your favorite shows. We captured details at Amsale, where models sported bright lips, caught the setting sun behind Marchesa‘s ornate gowns, and were blown away by the intricate veils on Reem Acra‘s runway. Check out all of this week’s bridal photos in the gallery below, and come back every Saturday for all of our favorite shots.
Emmy-nominated New Girl star Zooey Deschanel can always be counted on for a wow moment on the red carpet. “She’s a risk-taker who follows her instincts,” says her makeup artist Jorjee Douglass, who created her shimmery beauty look that offset her periwinkle Reem Acra gown. We love the shot of metallic eye makeup punctuated by those super-long lashes, and the hot pink lip was the perfect girly shade to tie it all together. Douglass used the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Ballet ($28 at barneys.com) for the striking hue. Pigmented, matte, and universally flattering—we’ll be trying this color ourselves this fall.

Nina Dobrev is known for several things, her addictive The Vampire Diaries series and her envy-inducing hair being two of them. And her latest looks do not disappoint. First, the actress showed off an adorable bouncy ponytail when she visited InStyle‘s portrait studio at the Toronto International Festival, and last night she stunned at the Los Angeles premiere of The Perks of Being a Wallflower with a twisted updo to show off the neckline of her ruby Reem Acra dress. Riawna Capri of L.A.’s Nine Zero One salon created both looks for the 23-year-old actress, who travels with her everywhere to make sure every strand is in perfect place. “We wanted to create a slightly disheveled updo to show off the lace and the neckline of the dress,” Capri told InStyle.com when she sent these exclusive behind-the-scenes photos before the premiere. “This look works great when wanting a soft elegance without looking too contrived. I love this for Nina.” And she’s not the only one who thinks so: After posting the look on Instagram (check out the photo here!), the style garnered more than 5,000 likes in a mere few hours and made the popular page! This is a new take on rock-and-roll inspiration! Malin Akerman walked the black carpet at Friday night’s Rock of Ages premiere in Los Angeles wearing a Reem Acra design featuring an up-to-there slit. “It’s a little bit risqué,” the actress told InStyle.com. “But I thought, ‘It’s rock-and-roll! You’ve got to go all the way!’” And away she went—she accessorized the dress, an altered piece from the designer’s fall 2012 collection, with a Judith Leiber clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Neil Lane jewelry. “My stylist sent a picture of this dress a few weeks ago and said, ‘What do you think?’ I said, ‘Bring it! Let’s do it.’” Now that’s guts! Tell us: What do you think of the look?
