Inside the Party: Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, and More Toast to Tiffany & Co. Inside a 31-Foot Tall Tiffany Blue Box

“It’s one of my more privileged nights,” Sarah Jessica Parker told InStyle.com as she entered the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball, which took place inside a 31-foot-high Tiffany Blue Box covering The Rink at Rockefeller Center to celebrate the jewelry company’s new custom collection inspired by the Jazz Age. And she wasn’t the only one feeling privileged—while she had $497,500 worth of Tiffany jewels accessorizing her vintage Vicky Tiel design, other guests also dressed in Tiffany’s finest, including Kate Hudson (in Reem Acra), Michelle Williams, Jessica Biel, Carey Mulligan (in Victoria Beckham), and Gwyneth Paltrow (in Ralph Lauren). The gorgeous gals were just a few of the 400 guests who, once inside the blue box, were treated to a ’20s-style supper club—which brought the newly-unveiled Great Gatsby-inspired windows to life—complete with big-band jazz performances and a serenade by Smash star Megan Hilty, who fittingly performed the night’s anthem, “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” And anywhere you turned—Tiffany blue could be found. “I love the color, it’s one of my favorites,” Paltrow said of the celebrated hue of the evening. “It’s so optimistic and it’s perfect. I think it’s so beautiful.” Click the photo for more.

Matching your digits to your dress is a no-fail beauty move, but now, you can coordinate your nails and your fragrance with Essie and Ralph Lauren‘s first-ever collaboration. The famed nail brand created four custom lacquers inspired by the label’s Big Pony scents, and we love how each hue is an exact match to the blue, pink, yellow, and violet flacons. The shades are available in Ralph Lauren’s limited-edition gift sets ($45 each; Macy’s and Bloomingdales stores nationwide), which also include a 50 ML Big Pony eau de toilette, and body spray. Plus, at select Macy’s outposts, you can get an in-store manicure using the vivid hues—visit macys.com to find a location near you.

See the pretty mani-pedi combos we’re loving for spring in the gallery below.

Dylan’s Candy Bar for LeSportsac: “Arm and Eye Candy” We Adore

With Easter this weekend (and all the Peeps that come with it), we’ve been keeping an eye out for any sweet fashion treats—which is why we’re loving the just-announced Dylan’s Candy Bar and LeSportsac collaboration. The handbag company partnered with Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph) to create a line of pouches inspired by the technicolor candy shops she runs around the country, and this Large Weekender (above, $188) is just one of the mouthwatering looks she came up with. “The Dylan’s Candy Bar for LeSportsac collection is the perfect thing for any candy lover because it’s arm candy and eye candy all in one,” Lauren told InStyle.com. “The patterns will appeal to gummy lovers, hard candy fanatics, and chocolate addicts alike, so everyone has something to choose from to represent their taste.” The prints, inspired by Dylan’s wallpaper and pop art (as seen above in the “Sugar Cube” print), will be featured on the 25-bag collection. Plus, LeSportsac customized each tote with a gumball zipper charm, one of many reasons Lauren thinks they’ll make perfect presents. “They’re bold and colorful. [And there are] pockets, making it easier to organize and find things.” All delicious selling points to us! Shop the first half of the collection when it launches this August, available at Dylan’s shops and on lesportsac.com for $18 to $188.

Runway Looks We Love: Ralph Lauren

Feb 14, 2013 @ 7:51 pm

We can always count on Ralph Lauren to take us on an inspired journey, and this morning’s runway show was no exception. For fall, the designer was influenced by nautical sailor style as well as Russian opulence. The former translated into stovepipe pants, cable knit cashmere sweaters, and even a wool evening dress worn with a sailor cap. The latter was all about glamour—velvet, beading, feathers, and lace. The closing looks, a series of stunning gowns in rich jewel tones, offered the perfect dose of romance. What more could we ask for on Valentine’s Day? See our favorite looks in the gallery!

Scandal Airs Tonight: See Olivia Pope’s Versatile Work Wardrobe

Jan 17, 2013 @ 4:00 pm

On tonight’s all-new episode of Scandal, flashbacks to Fitz’s presidential campaign will reveal more about his rigged election—and about Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington). Costume designer Lyn Paolo told InStyle.com exclusively that Pope’s campaign wardrobe favors both function and fashion. “On the campaign trail we work to keep Olivia Pope very casual,” Paolo said. “This is before she has set up Pope and Associates and she is a different person, working out of a suitcase, moving from town to town and slightly less put together.” But don’t think that the Pope of the past took business casual too seriously. She still managed to wear designer duds in an approachable way. Case in point: the grey Escada jacket pictured above, layered over a Ralph Lauren sweater in the same hue. “This look is worn with jeans and boots, and again we wanted to show a different Olivia, someone working 18 hours a day and having to make do with a few items of clothing as she organizes a campaign that could take her to several states in one day,” Paolo said. With versatile wardrobe staples like that, it’s no wonder Olivia Pope always manages to sway us. Tune in tonight at 10/9 c on ABC to see what goes down on the campaign trail.
