Runway Looks We Love: Proenza Schouler

Feb 16, 2012 @ 6:00 pm

Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez created a downtown chic collection for fall with a strong Asian influence. They filled the runway with leather, from head-to-toe looks to skin blazers and motorcycle jackets to tough-chic trim on skirts and outerwear. And the pair offered plenty of after-hours options, too, like flirty mini-dresses in black and bright seafoam as well as bird-print cocktail dresses. The assortment of accessories—this is the label behind the ‘It’ bag PS 11 satchel, after all—included fur handbags and clutches as well as chunky heel boots in ankle and knee-high versions. See our favorite looks in the gallery!

Runway Looks We Love: Proenza Schouler

Sep 15, 2011 @ 5:45 pm

Proenza Schouler‘s Spring 2012 collection was a ’50s-inspired secretary chic mash-up of oranges, greens, and browns accented with black and gold. Pencil skirts paired with bustiers exuded sex appeal, while the designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez‘s sly sense of humor came across in the vaguely ’70s Hawaiian prints. Wood-paneled platforms and flatforms, woven raffia handbags with chain-link straps, and cat-eye sunglasses accessorized each look. Runway Looks We Love: Proenza Schouler

Feb 18, 2011 @ 11:27 am

Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough drew upon Native American inspiration for their fall 2011 collection. It was full of prints—all of which were drawn on the computer, NYTimes.com reports—in vibrant shades of orange, blue, green, mustard, magenta, teal and turquoise. Most looks had sheer cut-outs inserted on the sides or near the neckline, and the yellow and brown leather outerwear pieces created the perfect layering option for the western-inspired collection. Click through the gallery to see our favorite looks from Proenza Schouler’s fall 2011 collection.
