Pia Toscano just released the video for her new single, “This Time!” The former American Idol contestant belts it out wearing beige knitwear on a sandy beach, and then adds a pop of purple before taking her song to the city streets. Although her music video style is a bit more casual than her looks on the Idol stage, we’re loving her new image as a solo artist! Check out the video and tell us what you think!

The Idol alum will perform her new single, “This Time,” on the Aug. 4th episode (8/7c, Fox), during which viewers will find out which four finalists will compete in the season finale, TV Guide reports. Pia Toscano: Her Post-American Idol Style!

Earlier this month, American Idol alum Pia Toscano announced that she inked a deal with Interscope Records, and now her first single is here! “This Time” (streaming at RyanSeacrest.com) is about bouncing back from a bad breakup, and the song showcases Toscano’s impressive pipes. Toscano is currently touring with this summer’s American Idol Live! tour, and sang the song live this week. What a bounce back from getting voted off the show in April! Pia Toscano signed a record deal! The American Idol alum—who we quickly became a fan of for her lovely voice, glossy hair, and sparkly minis on season 10 of the Fox smash hit show—inked a deal with Interscope Records, THR reports. “This is a dream come true,” the 22-year-old New York native said in a statement. Her first single named “This Time” drops on July 12th, and her first full album is due out later this year. Check out photos of Pia on AI below!

American Idol Style: Haley and Lauren for Top 7 Week!

Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina are the only two remaining women contestants on American Idol, and they worked their feminine charm with their style during last night’s top 7 episode! We caught up with the show’s costume designer Soyon An for the inside scoop. “Haley, with her tiny frame, looked chic with a ‘50s pin-up inspired dress,” An told InStyle of Reinhart’s red polka dotted frock by Stop Staring ($114 at StopStaring.com). “The tailored look made the dress look sexy and sweet on Haley.” As for Alaina, An gave the contestant the country look she loves. “I wanted Lauren to look young and fun and bring back her sweet country self this week,” An said of the outfit, which consisted of a Guess jacket, Marciano top, Wet Seal skirt and accessories, and Boot Star boots.

American Idol’s Pia Toscano to Make Big Announcement

American Idol contestant Pia Toscano may have gotten voted off the show last week—but don’t feel bad for her just yet! The 22-year-old singer recently said that she has big news to announce in the future. “There’s been so many great opportunities,” Toscano told ABC News. “But I’m focusing right now on the tour. Possibly you’ll hear something after the tour.” Could she be hinting at a record deal? Over the weekend, rumors swirled that she signed with Interscope, the same label that represents Lady Gaga and Fergie, but Toscano will not confirm that as of now. No matter what, we’re excited to see Toscano back in the limelight after her controversial elimination, so this is great news for fans who felt she left American Idol too soon!

Pia Toscano got voted off American Idol last night in one of the most shocking elimination rounds in Idol history! (Who can forget Jennifer Hudson, though?) The 22-year-old New York native was widely believed to be one of the front-runners of the competition. “When she sings, she’s a bird,” judge Steven Tyler said in shock last night after host Ryan Seacrest called her name. “You’re one of the best singers in this,” said judge Randy Jackson. Her elimination also brought our favorite judge Jennifer Lopez to tears: “I’m shocked, I’m angry,” Lopez said while choking up. And not only will we miss her lovely voice, we’ll also miss her style.
