That’s why we rounded up our favorite retro beauty looks that would feel right at home among Megan Draper’s swingin’ sixties wardrobe, including Emmy Rossum‘s super-defined crease, Padma Lakshmi‘s nude lip, and Ginnifer Goodwin‘s flared lower lashes. Padma Lakshmi Designed Jewelry for HSN — And It’s Available Starting Today!

Padma Lakshmi is a cookbook author, an actress, and now, a jewelry designer, too—and her first collection of PL by Padma Lakshmi trinkets debuts today on HSN. The multi-talented star, who also distributes her culinary line, Easy Exotic, though HSN, will be on the air during the channel’s Spring Fashion event to present her boho-inspired gold pieces, from bead-accented chandelier earrings to a laser-cut leopard-print ring, all priced between $16 and $90. “My designs are most notable for bridging the gap between East and West,” Lakshmi told InStyle.com. “I love the rich heritage and beauty of traditional Indian jewelry, but I wanted to do a line that was more modern and streamlined and sleek without losing the femininity and ethnic influences that run through all my designs.” And she accomplished that, with a range of statement-making pieces (a bold collar necklace) to delicate additions (a pave ring). “I wanted to create something that women would love to wear every day—pieces that work with jeans and a sweater as well as cocktail dresses and special occasions—jewelry that highlights the various sides of a woman’s personality without upstaging her.” Check your local TV listings to find out when Lakshmi will be presenting her collection to you for the first time, and see a selection of pieces on hsn.com now.

Last Night’s Parties: Padma Lakshmi and Susan Sarandon Raise Awareness for Endometriosis

Mar 12, 2013 @ 2:00 pm

Padma Lakshmi (in Monique Lhuillier) brought along pal Susan Sarandon to help her host the 5th Annual Blossom Ball at New York City’s Capitale, which raises awareness for the organization the Top Chef host co-founded, The Endometriosis Foundation of America. The EFA strives to increase recognition of an often-misdiagnosed disease by facilitating training and funding research. Lakshmi is so vocal and passionate about the cause because she suffered from the disease for decades. To learn more about the foundation visit endofund.org.

Oct 19, 2012 @ 10:00 am

Sharpen your knives, season 10 of Top Chef returns in three short weeks, and we caught up with host Padma Lakshmi to get some scoop on the upcoming season. “It’s amazing!” Lakshmi told InStyle.com at last night’s “Connecting the Dots” exhibition opening in New York City. “The women are really strong.” With a male winner last season, does this hint to a female champ? Milkmaid Braids - Florence WelchStartraksphoto; AP Photo; Getty Images

One Heidi Braid, Three Ways: Padma, Florence, and Candice

Jun 8, 2012 @ 11:15 am

Looking for an easy warm-weather hairstyle? Try variations of the milkmaid braid, as seen on Padma Lakshmi, Florence Welch, and Candice Swanepoel. Whether worn in an updo, with bangs, or half-down, these cute plaits are an easy way to change up your style, and beat the heat. Intricate plaits have more staying power when hair isn’t squeaky-clean, so work with second-day strands, or spritz on a texturizer to create grip. When securing the style, opt for hair pins in a color similar to your own hair for a more streamlined look.
