Alfre Woodard hosted a private dinner at a beautiful Hollywood Hills home to honor iconic actress Diahann Carroll (in Armani), and InStyle had exclusive access to the elegant affair. The girls-only guest list—including honorees Halle Berry (in Pavoni by Mikael D.), Emayatzy Corinealdi, Kerry Washington (in J. Mendel), and Lorraine Toussaint—celebrated the power of womanhood with the ultimate in Girl Talk, Oprah Winfrey. “I’ve been invited for five years and this is the first time I’ve ever been able to come!” Winfrey (in Donna Karan) told InStyle.com. “It’s such a wonderful gathering. I am just proud that I was asked and after all these years, I’m here. I’m late, but I’m here!” The guests dined on a lobster trio and lamb and sipped on Remy Martin cocktails while they mingled and took in views of downtown Los Angeles through the clear glass panels that made up the dining room floor. Oprah Helps Beyoncé Premiere Life Is But A Dream, Plus More Parties!

No last names were required last night when Oprah came to support Beyoncé at the New York premiere of the singer’s upcoming HBO documentary, Life Is But A Dream. Beyonce (in Elie Saab) both stars in and directed the documentary about her life and the making of her 2011 album, 4, which premieres this Saturday, February 16, at 9 p.m. on HBO. The pair also filmed an interview together for Oprah’s Next Chapter, Beyoncé‘s first since the Super Bowl, which will also air that night, at 8/7c on OWN. (Get a sneak peek at the sit-down here!)

Oprah Winfrey and Hugh Jackman stopped by a special screening of Disney’s’ new comedy, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, out August 15th. Scott Sanders, producer of The Color Purple, in which Winfrey starred in 1985, hosted the screening, held at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City. Oprah Winfrey entertained some of Hollywood’s hottest in honor of close friend Ralph Lauren and his commitment to charity at Lincoln Center in New York City last night. The evening started with a conversation with the designer talk inspiration, success, and family, which was then followed by a dinner to jointly benefit the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (they raised over $7 million). Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington, Camilla Belle, and Jessica Alba were just a few of the celebrities who showed up to toast to the legendary designer, all wearing looks he created. “I have a lot of Ralph Lauren!” Belle told InStyle.com before being whisked inside the event. Celebrity favorite designer L’Wren Scott just joined Twitter! The designer, whose creations are often worn by Oprah Winfrey (Scott designed the talk show host’s finale dress seen at left), Michelle Obama, Amy Adams, Nicole Kidman, and a fleet of Hollywood leading ladies, is happy about her new social media status. “I am officially on Twitter. #Excited,” was her first official Tweet.
