Yesterday, the British designer was awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE)—an honor presented by Queen Elizabeth II herself!—due to her dedication and contributions to British fashion. After all, this is the woman to designed Great Britain’s uniforms for the London Olympics and dressed the Future Queen, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge multiple times, so this recognition makes the royal family official fans. So, for her bout at Buckingham Palace, McCartney’s outfit represented her own talents—she chose a cobalt blue skirt-suit she designed as well as a headpiece hand-sewn by her milliner pal Philip Treacy, which consisted of two Cartier jewels and a veil she bought as a teen, WWD reports. Papa Paul must be so proud.

It’s off the mats and cameras rolling for Fierce Five teammates McKayla Maroney and Gabby Douglas. The Olympic gold medal gymnasts are taking a break from the vault and the uneven bars to film guest spots on two of the CW’s hottest dramas. While Maroney will join the Bluebell cast on Hart of Dixie, Douglas visited The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev and her costar/real-life boyfriend Ian Somerhalder on the Mystic Falls set earlier this week. And its mutual admiration between the actors and the athlete. After shooting wrapped, Dobrev tweeted: “Thanks for coming @gabrielledoug , I hope you had fun—you were great ! Smile is even brighter in person… : )” We think it’s an all-around brilliant match! Further proof that the CW really loves its olympians? Gold-medal swimmer Ryan Lochte will play himself in an upcoming episode of 90210. No word yet on whether his wardrobe involves a Speedo… Hart of Dixie returns on Tuesday, October 2, at 8 p.m. EST, and The Vampire Diaries kicks off season 4 on Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m. EST.

Ryan Lochte is riding his Olympic fame (and party-boy personality to match) all the way to scoring a new reality show and a new fashion line. ”It’s gonna be me, me being myself and I’m just pretty much gonna show the world that and my new fashion line,” the gold medal-winning swimmer told The Daily Buzz of his project (he’s currently in talks with E!). Judging from his style choices, like American flag grills and bomber jackets, we’re thinking his pieces will be for the Ryan Lochte wannabes of the world. (Accept it.
