Noomi Rapace: See Her Red Carpet Style!

Dec 30, 2011 @ 1:00 pm

After getting to know Noomi Rapace as the original Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the actress now stars in a stateside blockbuster, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. We caught up with her during her red carpet moment at the Los Angeles premiere to talk style: “I like designers who take risks, and are a bit more edgy,” said Rapace, who chose pieces by Emilio Pucci and Valentino recently (shown). “I was a punk girl when I was young and I have that inside me, so I like things that are glamorous but a bit more edgy.” See more photos in the gallery now.

Moore, Stone, Arterton and More Stun at BAFTA

Feb 14, 2011 @ 1:01 pm

While music’s hottest acts partied at the Grammys in Los Angeles last night, film’s hottest stars hopped across the pond to attend the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards in London for what turned out to be one of the more beautiful red carpets of award season thus far. Julianne Moore walked the carpet with designer Tom Ford wearing one of his strapless blue designs, Emma Stone upped her status as rising style star dressed in head-to-toe Lanvin, and Gemma Arterton wrapped herself in a silk velvet black gown and tied on a sapphire blue bow, a look designed by Yves Saint Laurent. See the rest of the beautiful BAFTA red carpet looks in the gallery.

Style to Watch: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Noomi Rapace

Feb 9, 2011 @ 10:35 am

Though Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are filming the American adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in Sweden right now, actress Noomi Rapace pioneered the role of the story’s heroinecomputer hacker Lisbeth Salanderin the original Swedish version in 2009. Since then, the Swedish actress appeared on many red carpets, and her personal style is much different than the dark, tattooed woman she plays in the film—it’s classy, sophisticated and somewhat daring. Just this week she wore a menswear-inspired look by Viktor & Rolf (left) and for InStyle’s Golden Globes after-party this year, she wore a flirty red and pink dress by Zac Posen (right). Rapace is currently on set, filming her first English-speaking role alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes 2, out this December.
