The crew of The Vampire Diaries journeyed north of Mystic Falls for The CW Networks’s Upfront after-party, held at the New York City Center. Off-set, the show’s love-crossed star Nina Dobrev (in a satin Dolce & Gabbana dress), caught up with Paul Wesley, who portrays Stefan Salvatore, one of the two brothers after her character Elena Gilbert’s heart on the show. The other man vying for her attention, Damon Salvatore, played by real-life beau Ian Somerhalder, was not pictured, but definitely close by. “Next seasons [sic] gonna be interesting,” Tweeted Dobrev. Nina Dobrev plays one good, one evil character on The Vampire Diaries, the third season of which just aired with a cliffhanger last week. In real life, her style goes beyond more than just two sides—she’s edgy, polished, flirty, and bohemian—which is exactly how she wants it. “My favorite look is very preppy meets casual meets high fashion,” she told InStyle. She exemplified this no better than within the past four days, easily switching from edgy cut-off shorts, wide-brim fedora, and ankle boots to a polished red dress, khaki blazer, and gold flats to a flirty hot pink Gabriela Cadena dress to a bohemian printed maxi dress. “I’m not one of those girls who like to splurge and shop at every opportunity,” the Bulgarian-born Canadian actress said. “My instinct is to be comfy and run around in flip flops.” And while Dobrev likes to play it simple, she does have one style mission: “I want every single piece in my wardrobe—and in my house—to be unique and remind me of what was going on in my life at the time I bought it,” she said. Nina Dobrev’s Perfect Blowout: Her Secret Weapon

This weekend, The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev showed off her always-perfect coif when she attended an environmental benefit in Bel Air for her co-star and off-screen boyfriend Ian Somerhalder’s foundation. What’s the secret to her beach-meets-glam polished, bouncy waves? For the answer, her hairstylist Alicyn Blackman points to the the Black 15in1 Treatment ($20; black15in1.com), a formula that uses keratin and sunflower seed extract to leave strands shiny, frizz-free, and hydrated. “I applied the product from Nina’s roots to ends, then blow-dried her hair until most of the moisture was out,” she said. Blackman created additional texture with a medium-barrel curling iron, then sealed the style with a final spritz. Gorgeous!
