Some of Hollywood’s hottest moms came together for the first annual Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles this weekend, including Jessica Alba (in Valentino), Modern Family star Julie Bowen (in Naeem Khan), Nicole Richie (in Lorena Sarbu), Rachel Zoe (in Rachel Zoe), and Busy Philipps (in vintage from Decades). “I’m so proud to be part of the work that Baby2Baby is doing,” said Richie, a board member for the non-profit, which was founded by her pals Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof with the mission to supply families in need with clothing and other necessities for children. The event included both silent and live auctions as well as 299 cased diamond necklaces used as décor. Alba also received the first-ever Baby2Baby Giving Tree Award for her ongoing support of the organization and dedication to families in need in Los Angeles. “I didn’t think twice about joining Baby2Baby,” Alba said during her acceptance speech. “So many kids are going to have a better chance of becoming what they could be because of you guys.” Click through the gallery to see more party photos from this week’s biggest events.

QVC’s Shoes on Sale Show is Tonight; Sales Go to Breast Cancer Research

Oct 24, 2012 @ 3:35 pm

We love shopping for a cause, and QVC is giving us a good reason to tonight with its FFANY Shoes on Sale special. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST, many of the shoes on qvc.com and on TV will be available for half the manufacturer’s price, with net proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and education, thanks to a special partnership the retailer has with the Fashion Footwear Charitable Foundation (FFANY). On Monday, Nicole Richie, Kristin Cavallari, and Katrina Bowden got a sneak peek at the shoe sale at the 19th Annual FFANY Shoes on Sale gala in New York City, where Richie’s House of Harlow shoes were snatched up quickly by guests. “I’m so excited people are supporting my dream and supporting my work,” she told InStyle.com. “To be a part of this great cause, I felt it was really important.” Tune in, and happy shoe shopping!

Nicole Richie turns 31 today! From reality star (first, on The Simple Life with then BFF Paris Hilton, and now, as a judge on Fashion Star) to fragrance creator to clothing designer (House of Harlow 1960, Winter Kate, an Impulse collection for Macy’s, and a QVC offering)—Nicole truly can do it all. On her ability to juggle multiple fashion lines, Richie told InStyle.com: “When I’m creating, I don’t try to focus too much on the differences [between the collections]. You’ll see that they’re all still very much me and my aesthetic.” And we couldn’t be happier about that. So, in honor of the multi-hyphenate’s birthday, we rounded up our 10 favorite Nicole Richie endeavors!

Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie Sport Spooled Top Knots

Sep 20, 2012 @ 4:37 pm

Although we’ll always love polished ballerina buns, sky-high spooled top knots are totally on trend this season. Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie both turned heads this week when they stepped out sporting the hair-raising ‘do. To get the look, sweep hair into a high pony at the top of your head and tie with a clear elastic. Twist upward and begin pinning. Add shine drops if you’re looking for a super-sleek crown. Depending on how textured you want your bun, celebrity stylist Mitch Stone suggests adding a braid for a more glamorous look. “If you’re looking for some punch, add extensions to build the ‘do higher,” he says. Check out the gallery to see our favorite celebrity top knots!
