You know it’s a good Fashion Week when the A-list celebrities start returning to the front rows. Most of them had been scared off from the New York collections long ago by the swarms of paparazzi. Well, them and the advent of blogger-celebrities who started getting more flashbulbs than actual famous people.
What a change! Among the many creative hairstyles at last night’s People’s Choice Awards, Naya Rivera‘s ‘do surprised us the most — the Glee star hit the red carpet in a striking new honey blonde shade. We loved the striking effect against her colorblocked Michael Kors number, and we can’t help but wonder how the look will affect her on-screen persona, Santana Lopez. Rivera, who is engaged to rapper Big Sean, rarely changes up her signature brunette tone, but we’re loving her lighter hair, and can’t wait to see the many surely-glamorous ways she’ll be styling it. We want to know: Do you like her blonde strands? Sound off in the comments!
A love for diamond studs! The three actresses all embodied the perennial fashion rule of thumb: Less is more. Opting out of extravagantly bejeweled earrings, Hayden Panettiere, Naya Rivera and Ashley Benson chose to round out their ensembles with oversized synthetic Kara Ackerman “Talulah” diamond studs, instead. Just large enough to deliver a sprinkle of shine (without overdosing on eye-blinding bling), these earrings hit the spot, making them perfect for both everyday wear and dressier occasions. The beloved studs are made of sterling silver and are rhodium plated in a four-prong setting, and best of all, they ring in at $125. Snap one up for yourself at karaackerman.com.

Here’s some happy news for the cast of Glee: New Directions’ Santana Lopez played by 26-year-old Naya Rivera, recently said yes to her boyfriend rapper Big Sean’s proposal and she happily showed off her big sparker on the red carpet during last night’s Latina magazine’s Hollywood Hot List party. The two have been dating since April of this year and they already collaborated together on Rivera’s debut single, Sorry. Looking at the size of the ring, we have to admit, Big Sean sure knows how to pick a rock! Now that you’ve seen the ring up close, tell us, what do you think?

Inside the Party: InStyle Celebrates Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s New Handbag Line for Elizabeth and JamesJun 20, 2013 @ 3:15 pm
“Good music, champagne, good drinks, and always a balcony,” Ashley Olsen said as she swept into the Chateau Marmont’s Room 64 two-bedroom penthouse in Los Angeles to join her sister Mary-Kate celebrate the launch of their new handbag collection for Elizabeth and James. InStyle’s editor Ariel Foxman hosted the fete for the pair, and pals of the designers and the magazine stopped by to check out the new backpacks, clutches, and carryalls, including Aimee Teegarden. “I’m in love with the blue messenger bag, it looks amazing with your everyday stuff,” she told InStyle.com. After she heard someone had their eye on it, she got protective of her new find: “Someone else is watching it? I might have to fight them for it! I’m up for the challenge.” Stacy Keibler, Brittany Snow, Ashley Madekwe, Kiernan Shipka all stopped by and tried out the pop-up photo booth, as well as Glee’s Naya Rivera, who posted her candids to Instagram. Specialty cocktails kept the conversation buzzing with their perfectly-named titles, a lemon-infused “The Elizabeth” and a ginger beer-based “The James.” As the sun went down, the balcony was the spot to be—just as Ashley Olsen predicted—as guests grabbed seats on the gray couches and high-back chairs to take in views of Sunset Boulevard and the famous bungalow pools. Glee actress Naya Rivera chose to wear a custom dress by Donna Karan Atelier to the SAG Awards, and the designer gave us an insider look at the black gown with this sketch. The design features an exposed corset with an accordion pleat detail. “I love this dress because it feels good,” Rivera told InStyle.com on the red carpet. “It fits really well, and it’s really dramatic. I had so many choices this year and I narrowed it down to two. This is the one that sort of stuck!” Rivera attended the ceremony on behalf of the show, which was nominated for Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Comedy Series.

On tonight’s all-new episode of Glee, the cast will be recreating scenes and performing songs from Grease. We caught up with Darren Criss at Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Tie The Knot launch party last night to get his take on the “Glease” episode. “It’s definitely a new favorite,” Criss told InStyle.com. “If you’re a Grease fan, you’re going to love it. If you don’t know anything about Grease, you’re going to want to watch Grease.” Sounds (and looks) like viewers are in for a ride (note the “Greased Lighting” preview above). This week will also see the return of Kate Hudson as Lea Michele’s dance instructor, Cassandra July. Hudson, along with Naya Rivera and newcomer Alex Newell, will be singing “There Are Worse Things I Could Do,” and Criss can’t get enough of it. “It’s so good. It’s wonderful!” he said. So, grab your hair gel, leather pants, and poodle skirts—this screams sing-along. Glee‘s “Glease” episode airs tonight at 9/8c on FOX.

Ryan Murphy’s been Tweeting up a behind-the-scenes storm! First, the Glee creator shared this picture of Lea Michele and Kate Hudson on the set of his hit show’s fourth season. Then, he Tweeted this deleted scene between Chris Colfer’s Kurt and Darren Criss’s Blaine (or “Klaine” to Gleeks) from season three’s Christmas special. And now, thanks to all the requests he’s received for it, @MrRPMurphy uploaded the missing Bridesmaids-inspired scene promised from Rachel’s (Michele) and Finn’s (Cory Monteith) would-have-been wedding. All the McKinley ladies are here, and we get a chance to see Rachel’s adorable tea-length white dress, created by the show’s costume designers and L’ezu‘s Patricia Nevil, up close. “We used Audrey Hepburn’s wedding dress in Funny Face as inspiration for Rachel Berry’s dress,” costume assistant Mojdeh Daftary told InStyle.com. Here’s our comparison—they were so spot-on! Watch the scene above.
