CoverGirl to Launch a Hunger Games Makeup Collection

CoverGirl is taking The Hunger Games look out of the Capitol! The beauty brand just announced that it will release a full cosmetics collection inspired by the trilogy in November, just in time for the release of the new installment, Catching Fire. We can’t wait to see the rainbow of dramatic hues that are sure to come thanks to the eccentric characters in the book, like Effie Trinket and her Capitol compadres. While there are no photos of the lineup yet, stay tuned for sneak peeks. The brand will roll out previews on Facebook.com/CoverGirl, Twitter @covergirl, and Instagram @covergirlofficial as the release date nears.

We’re four-and-a-half months into 2013 and finally there’s a hair makeover that has us going WOW, WE’RE IN LOVE. Direct your eyes to the new choppy bob framing the face of Jennifer Lawrence, who debuted her hair makeover at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles this weekend. While Lawrence often veers between her natural blonde and her Hunger Games brunette, this is the first time we’ve seen her working an above-the-shoulder chop, and her tousled cut is a welcome change for spring—not to mention a look we’d can’t wait to copy. Of getting changing her look, Lawrence once told InStyle: ”I mean, I’m a girl. I’m excited when I look good!” This isn’t just good, it’s great. But it’s your call: Do you like her new look? Ladies and gentleman, Katniss Everdeen and Petta Mellark are baaaaaaaack! Last night, the world got its first look at the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer during the MTV Movie Awards, and the 2 minutes and 26 seconds is packed with glory from the Victory Tour and upheaval from the repercussions of what that means. Plus, you get to see 74th Annual Hunger Games winners Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in their elaborately-designed clothes—though, it’s nothing compared to Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket’s looks, which you also see briefly. Watch the trailer above, and let the countdown to its November 22nd release begin.

New Hunger Games: Catching Fire Poster—A Wedding Portrait Tease?

Lionsgate released a new poster for the upcoming installment of The Hunger Game franchise, Catching Fire! The poster shows 74th Annual Hunger Games Victors Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss Everdeen (Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence) about to embark on their official Victory Tour—an enforced journey to visit all of the districts. And for the first time, fans get an up close look at the costumes that we’ll be seeing in the movie! Swathed in all white, Peeta and Katniss are dressed in formal clothing that befits their victory journey–Peeta wears a crisp shirt and dress pants, and Katniss dons a billowing dress. Could this be a nod to a future wedding perhaps? We’ll have to wait until the movie hits theaters on November 22 to see!

Just minutes away from the Dolby Theatre, where the 85th Academy Awards were held, there was another celebration going on—InStyle‘s annual Oscar viewing party! The guest list at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood included Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his fiance, Justin Mikita (both in Hugo Boss), Kat Graham (in Dolce & Gabbana), Jessica Szohr (in Reformation), and more, snacking on steak sandwiches and sipping Beluga Noble Vodka mixed drinks to watch all the action, both fashion and film. One very big fan of Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence also swung by, Hunger Games co-star Alexander Ludwig. “I was blown away, but I totally expected it. She, of all people, deserved it,” said Ludwig (in Armani), who stood up and cheered as soon as he heard her name. “She’s one of the most classy and incredible, exceptional people I’ve ever met. I’m so happy for her. The second I heard her name, I texted her!” And he also had a winning moment himself, predicting enough right answers for InStyle‘s Academy Awards ballot contest to take home the grand prize, a luxury stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. In them, Lawrence resurfaces as our favorite arrow-wielding heroine Katniss Everdeen, and this time, she’s bringing along new cohorts, like District 4′s golden boy Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), shown here. Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: First Look!

The cast of The Hunger Games is at it again! After Jennifer Lawrence made quick round of promoting her just-released flick, Silver Linings Playbook, the actress landed in Hawaii to film scenes from next year’s highly anticipated sequel, Catching Fire. And, thanks to this photo of her in a skintight wetsuit, it didn’t take much for Lawrence to slip into her character, the awesome arrow-wielding heroine Katniss Everdeen. We can only assume she’s suiting up to film scenes of her competing in the third-ever Quarter Quell, or the 75th anniversary of the Hunger Games tournament. Does this first look light a spark for you, fans?
