Instagram Photo We Love: Tiffany & Co.’s Deco Headpiece for The Great Gatsby

May 12, 2013 @ 2:00 pm

In the new book-to-film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan wears this Tiffany & Co. sparkler, a piece that has all the drama and oppulence of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s heroine. We spotted the flapper style at a New York screening of Baz Luhrmann’s film and decided it would make for an even better accessory than a pair of 3D glasses! And you love it, too—so far the snap got over 10,000 likes. Keep up with gorgeous shots, like this Tiffany’s blockbuster, by following us on Instagram at @instylemagazine.

From Romeo + Juliet to The Great Gatsby, How Leonardo DiCaprio Has Changed

May 10, 2013 @ 11:30 am
Leonardo DiCaprioEverette Collection (2)

When Baz Luhrmann first directed Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet in 1996, he was a young actor on the verge of superstardom. Fast-forward 17 years, and DiCaprio is back working with Luhrmann as the titular role in Luhrmann’s adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel, The Great Gatsby. But this time, Leo’s different, the director told us at a screening of The Great Gatsby at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. “I’ve been thinking about it a lot,” Luhrmann reflected. “He really was this gifted young man, but now he’s at a point where he’s one of the finest players in the world.” And DiCaprio’s star power goes beyond the screen. ”He’s a collaborator,” Luhrmann continued. “He helped me get this green lit. You have no idea how hard it is for a studio to give you a reasonable chunk of money. It’s not easy for anybody; it hardly ever happens. We got it together and made it happen.” Now that’s the power of Leo! Click here to see where The Great Gatsby is playing near you.
