The Amazing Spider-Man is flying high—at the box office! This high-rise updo is gaining popularity in the hazy days of summer. Emma Stone sported the look at The Amazing Spider-Man premiere in Rome. Her hairstylist, Mara Roszak, paired the pompadour with a classic French twist to complement the high neck line on Stone’s dress. She gave the bump a side sweep instead of the traditional straight back effect. “I took the top section and gently teased at her roots and brushed it back,” Roszak told InStyle.com. “Then I connected the top of the twist in the back and secured it with bobby pins.” Other stars like Elizabeth Banks, Marisa Tomei and Marion Cotillard also favor the style. It’s easy to create, versatile enough to be refined or relaxed and it works for all face shapes! For more summer hair trends, check out our gallery!
Move over Magic Mike and Ted, The Amazing Spider-Man is this summer’s mega blockbuster! The superhero movie broke box office records, pulling in $35 million in its first day—the highest Tuesday debut since the Transformers in 2007, THR reports. We have to wonder if part of the movie’s appeal is the humble, handsome, relatable star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, who has a bit of a superhero quality himself. When we asked him what superpower he would want at an event supporting Worldwide Orphans Foundation (he is the Sports Ambassador) he answered “teleportation.” Why? “In terms of being generous and making a difference, it would be very useful to be in many different places at once because the world is in great need of help,” Garfield explained. Now that’s a heroic thought, no web-weaving needed!

It wouldn’t be summer without a superhero movie, which is why we’re excited to catch The Amazing Spider-Man over this Fourth of July break! We caught up with the cast at the film’s Hollywood premiere, where Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field, and more gave us the inside scoop on the blockbuster. One fun fact we learned: Spider-Man’s stunts came naturally to leading man Garfield. “I was a gymnast when I was a kid,” he told reporters. “I think I became a gymnast because I was a Spider-Man fan, so I felt at home doing the physical stuff.” For more fun quotes from the stars of The Amazing Spider-Man, click through the gallery!

Andrew Garfield has been traveling a ton lately to promote his upcoming action flick The Amazing Spider-Man, which co-stars his on- and off-screen love interest, Emma Stone. Together, the pair put on their fanciest clothes (think Dior, Gucci, etc.) and jetted to Moscow, Tokyo, London, Los Angeles, and more. So, when we caught up with him in New York this week, we had to know—does he ever get tired of looking so dapper all of the time? “Yes, actually,” he told InStyle.com at an event supporting the Worldwide Orphans Foundation, for which he was just named its Sports Ambassador. “It becomes like saying a word over and over and over again. It becomes meaningless, which is such a shame because I’m wearing this beautiful Gucci suit.” (See above right.) Luckily, the whole process is harmless. “I work with an incredible stylist, Petra Flannery,” Garfield said of his secret style weapon, who also happens to dress Stone. “She basically treats me like a child and dresses me every day. It’s a pretty great deal, but unfortunately it becomes meaningless after a while. You crave pajamas and a shaved head.”
