Even Barbie and Ken are fans of The Hunger Games! Just in time for holiday gifting, four of Panem’s residents are getting a Barbie makeover, complete with each character’s new Catching Fire ensembles. But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Jennifer Lawrence in doll form — last April, Barbie created a mini-Katniss Everdeen, clad in her trademark getup and ever-essential bow and arrow kit. This time, Peeta Mellark, Finnick Odair, and Effie Trinket are also getting the mini-me treatment, and true to canon, Effie’s doll is pure glamour. Find the full range at barbiecollector.com, priced at $25 per doll — we think they’d be a perfect holiday gift for both Barbie and Hunger Games enthusiasts alike.
Does art really imitate life? In Jennifer Lawrence‘s case, yes! Pre-pixie cut, the star famously wore intricate braided hairstyles that mirrored her on-screen plait in her role as Katniss Everdeen, and we were left wanting to recreate each of the delicate looks on our own. The Katniss effect also caught on in Hollywood, with one A-lister after the next hitting the red carpet in a pretty twist that would look right at home among Panem’s avant-garde style choices. To celebrate the release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, we rounded up our favorite celebrity braids, all of which would do District 12′s boldest resident proud. See each style in our gallery now!
The wait is almost over — Catching Fire rolls out to theaters nationwide tomorrow, with midnight screenings starting in mere hours! But before you line up for tickets, consider accenting your Katniss ensemble with some ultra-hot nail art. We painted up four fun manicures inspired by the film, and while they’re not as intense as Effie’s embellished talons, they’re an easy, stylish way to give your look a touch of fire. See each manicure in our gallery now, with step-by-step instructions on how to nail all four effects.
This girl is still on fire! At the London premiere of Catching Fire, Jennifer Lawrence gave her new pixie cut a polished touch by sweeping her long fringe to the back, and keeping her sides sleek. It’s certainly a change from the low-key bangs she wore when debuting the cut last week, and the sophisticated look was the perfect complement to her sparkling low-back Dior gown. We couldn’t help but notice that the style mirrored the swept-back updo our cover girl wore for her glamorous December feature, pre-cut, and now we’re wondering: Did Lawrence’s InStyle photo shoot inspire her latest red carpet hair look? We’re not sure, but we love it either way!
Oh, happy day, Tributes! Costume designer Trish Summerville, the genius who turned dimpled Rooney Mara into The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo‘s goth princess, Lisbeth Salander, has signed on to create the looks for The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, EW’s PopStyle reports. One of the many looks Summerville will be responsible for is Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) wedding dress, a luxe white gown with a pivotal plot moment. We can’t wait to see how she creates that memorable look!

The odds are in our favor—again! Finally, Lionsgate announced that Lynn Cohen will be playing the crucial character of Mags, former District 4 champion, in the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. (You may recognize her from Sex and the City as Miranda’s nanny Magda.) Snow White and the Huntsman‘s Sam Claflin, is also close to signing a deal to star as flirty Finnick Odair, Deadline reports. Cohen will join Jena Malone, who’s in as the District 7′s Johanna Mason, and Philip Seymour Hoffman, as gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. Click through to see more of Catching Fire’s official cast.
