Gossip Girl: Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dress by Monique Lhuillier?

Gossip Girl filmed the Blair Waldorf–Prince Louis of Monaco wedding in New York last night! Photographers caught Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) on set, tearfully running out of the ceremony in her elaborate gown and diamond tiara. OK, so she may not marry the Prince—we won’t know for sure until the episode airs in January—but she did get to wear the dress! “It’s phenomenal,” the show’s stylist Eric Daman told InStyle.com of the look at the launch of his DKNY hosiery collection last month. “It has that kind of bravado and gorgeousness and is also subtle and beautiful.” And he gave us a few hints: First, “She is with child, so I doubt that it’s going to be white,” he said. Second, “It’s a bridal designer who also designs ready-to-wear.” After pouring over images of wedding gowns with his clues in mind, we’re thinking Monique Lhuillier is behind the strapless lace and tulle gown with a sweetheart neckline and side bow. Waldorf’s look is similar to the “Emma” style the designer created for her fall 2012 collection, with a few tweaks, like the ivory hue and a fuller skirt. Tell us: What do you think of Blair’s wedding dress?

UPDATE: The dress is by Vera Wang—click here for more info!

With flowing chiffon, tons of tulle, and fine fabrics, the designs are perfectly suited for the bride who wants an utterly romantic and ethereal wedding day look. Where to Get Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Look!

May 2, 2011 @ 2:00 pm

Brides to be, take note! Replicas of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress looks are already in production. ABS already created a long-sleeved lace gown with a plunging neckline (right) similar to the stunning Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen design Middleton wore, while a silk organza ballgown Theia showed this month is almost identical to the strapless dress the Duchess of Cambridge changed into before heading to her reception. ABS designer Allen Schwartz expects his gown to sell for around $400, with deliveries beginning on June 30th, and Theia‘s $1,995 McQueen lookalike will hit Nordstrom stores in September. Monique Lhuillier Named Two of Her New Wedding Gowns ‘Catherine’ and ‘Pippa’

Apr 28, 2011 @ 5:00 pm

Famed bridal designer Monique Lhuillier, who has dressed celebrity brides such as Reese Witherspoon, Carrie Underwood, Pink, and Alicia Silverstone, unveiled her newest bridal 2012 collection recently. Lhuillier named each of the gowns with a woman’s name, as she typically does, but we noticed something interesting this time around. Two of the looks in her new lineup have names with a royal ring to them—Catherine and Pippa! The “Catherine” gown, right, looks fit for a princess with long sleeves, a high neckline, and an all-over lace approach. The “Pippa” dress, left, looks like it could be for a bridesmaid or maid of honor (and Pippa Middleton is the maid of honor at sister Catherine’s nuptials) with a short hemline and a more body-hugging silhouette. Could this be just the start of royal inspiration for bridal? Take a closer look at the two royally-named gowns in the gallery.
