Sofia Vergara Is InStyle’s April Cover Girl!

Sofia Vergara is InStyle’s April cover girl! With her killer curves and irresistible comic timing, the Modern Family star has taken the stereotype of the sultry Latin spitfire and spun it into gold, landing her at the top of Hollywood’s hot list. And that’s not something she takes lightly: “I am on these lists for ‘best ass’ or ‘most beautiful’ with women like Mila Kunis, who’s, like, 20 years old,” she said. “I have a son that age!” Though, she’s happy to be there. “Part of my career has always been because of the way I look,” she said. “I’m not ashamed. It has opened doors. But I also know that if I didn’t have something else, I’d be long gone.” What she has is the whole package, complete with crack timing, sly self-deprecation, and savvy business sense, including a spokesperson gig for Cover Girl and a line for K-Mart. “I love jewelry—rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, you name it,” she said. Julie Bowen: ‘I Feel Like the Teen Boys’ Department Version of Sofia’

While Julie Bowen (in Temperley) and Sofia Vergara (in Marchesa) both wore similar shades of fuchsia to the SAG Awards, the Modern Family co-stars didn’t coordinate together. “I clearly didn’t plan my colors with Sofia,” Bowen told InStyle.com at the after-party. “I usually email her shortly before an awards thing and I go, ‘What are you wearing?’” And she wishes she remembered to do that this time: “I don’t want to wear the same color as her because you look like you’re wearing the junior men’s version of whatever she’s wearing,” Bowen said. “I feel like the teen boys’ department version of Sofia!” We think both ladies looked gorgeous!

Sofia Vergara for Kmart: See the Collection Now!

Sofia Vergara’s collection for Kmart is now in stores! The Modern Family actress launched the line this week, and we caught up with her in New York to get the inside scoop. “For a long time, I wanted to do a line that is for everyone,” she told InStyle.com. “This is for any size, any ethnicity, any woman who wants to look cute and be comfortable and sexy at the same time, without spending a lot of money.” Her lineup includes jackets, tops, sweaters, and dresses for under $60. Sofia Vergara: ‘Valentino and Diane Von Furstenberg Watch Modern Family!’

Sofia Vergara met some surprising fans of her Modern Family character Gloria Delgado-Pritchett at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala last week. “I was very surprised a lot of people said they were a big fan of Modern Family,” the actress and new face of both Diet Pepsi and CoverGirl told us over the phone this week. “Diane Von Fustenberg, Valentino and his partner, everybody that was there! They would come up to me and say, ‘I love the show.’” Another designer fan is Carolina Herrera, who invited Vergara to the event and dressed the star in a figure-flattering gown with a floral motif. “They all said they love the character. Sofia Vergara Designs for Kmart!

Sofia Vergara is bringing her signature sexy look to… Kmart! The Modern Family actress teamed up with the retailer to create her first collection, which includes jewelry, clothes, shoes and bags. “It’s comfortable and chic, affordable and versatile to wear from day to night,” she told WWD. So, why did she pick Kmart? “This is not a new store for me,” Vergara said, shown wearing a tight leopard-print bustier dress she designed. “When you have kids, you don’t go to Bergdorf Goodman to buy underwear and socks.
