Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl in Town” Video: Fashion Details

Jul 31, 2012 @ 12:45 pm

In Miranda Lambert’s new Thelma and Louise-themed music video for “Fastest Girl in Town,” the country singer “borrows” a car she’s eyeing at a local bar with a little help from a pro: NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The two pull off a very stylish robbery—car chase and all! ”When I first read the script for the video, it made me think of The Dukes of Hazzard, but it really needed to be timeless,” Lambert’s stylist Tiffany Gifford told InStyle.com. “To do that, I got distressed, slim boot-cut Seven for All Mankind jeans and topped them with a vintage style Free People tank. It wanted the look to feel lived in—as if Miranda and Danica would have had these pieces in their closets forever—but it also had to have a sexy, bad girl ‘I might steal your car’ vibe.” See if Miranda and Danica in the video above, then click “See the Photos” for more behind-the-scenes details about their robbery-inspired style.

CMT Music Awards 2012: Miranda Lambert’s Exclusive Photos!

Jun 7, 2012 @ 11:35 am

What’s it like to get ready with Miranda Lambert? We found out when the country star and her stylist Tiffany Gifford exclusively showed InStyle.com  her primping routine before last night’s 2012 CMT Music Awards. “Miranda loved the silhouette of her red carpet dress,” Gifford said of the Georges Hobeika black strapless dress. “It was modern Audrey Hepburn, and we of course had to throw some bling and rock and roll into it with the rock star shoes.” (Check out Gifford helping Lambert with her Giuseppe Zanotti caged heels in the photo!) All the prep work paid off—she walked the red carpet with her first-time nominated band Pistol Annies and took home the award for Female Video of the Year for her song “Over You.” Way to go! See more exclusive behind-the-scenes photos in the gallery.

Miranda Lambert’s Kentucky Derby Inspiration: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

May 7, 2012 @ 11:25 am

Country star Miranda Lambert channeled her Kentucky Derby look this weekend from a world-famous hat expert: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! “She definitely looked to Kate Middleton for her Derby hat style,” her stylist Tiffany Gifford told InStyle.com of her Giovannio New York topper. “Miranda specifically asked for a fascinator this year because the big hat she wore last year was so heavy it hurt her neck! She loved the little cage on the front because it was just the right amount of retro.” The black sequin-covered topper complemented her printed Lela Rose strapless dress, while red Charlotte Olympia pumps and Colette jewels rounded out her accessories.

Celebrity Manicure Inspiration: Metallic Nails

Mar 13, 2012 @ 3:00 pm

Metallic manis are having a moment: Rihanna painted on gold tips in London, and Miranda Lambert wore silver polish to last night’s Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games. When trying the look, keep this in mind: Metallics show more nail flaws than their opaque counterparts, so buff nails before lacquering up. Since shimmery polishes tend to fade, add up to three layers and finish with a durable top coat to keep your color in place.

Celebrities love Lorena Sarbu! It’s only been three years since the Romanian-born, New York-based designer launched her first eveningwear collection, and her creations have already become red-carpet favorites, appearing on Carrie Underwood, Emma Stone, Heather Morris, Miranda Lambert, and more. ”The woman I design for is ambitious, she’s confident, she’s determined,” Sarbu told InStyle.com at her fall 2012 fashion show. “But she’s also authentic, she’s not afraid to show emotion. In fact, I welcome that to my designs. I want to translate this femininity and this toughness.” The mix is clear in Sarbu’s delicate gowns teamed with serious embellishments, and intricately beaded dresses with gutsy, up-to-there hemlines. Getting ready for a big event yourself? Heed her advice when choosing an outfit: “Just listen to your instincts.” See who else loves Sarbu’s designs in the gallery—we could be seeing something of hers at the Oscars this Sunday!
