Launch You’ll Love: Ashton Kutcher’s T-Shirt Company Pickwick & Weller Releases Silk Tees

May 6, 2013 @ 1:30 pm

Basic tees are getting sexier thanks to Pickwick & Weller, the made-in Los Angeles tee company founded by Ryan Donahue, Matt Rowe, and all-around all-star Ashton Kutcher. Today, they launch new tees and tanks that incorporate the soft, sensual fabric of silk, an expansion of their easy-to-wear cotton tops already loved by stars like Mila Kunis (she told us Pickwick & Weller’s were “fantastic” in her InStyle March cover story!). And the team is thrilled to now offer made-in-America silk—sourced from a family-owned mill in New Jersey—for tops that cost under $100. “Our new silk tees are so soft, they feel like home,” Kutcher told InStyle.com. “It will not only be the shirt you want to put on, it will be the one you don’t want to take off.” Now that’s a must-have basic! Visit pickwickweller.com to shop the new styles, including the Nico tank ($72) and the Monroe tee ($79).

There is no accessory more important in the classic Wizard of Oz fairytale than the click-your-heels-together-and-pray-for-home ruby slippers. And since Judy Garland’s 1939 originals are currently in the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Beverly Hills (thanks to some help from Leonardo DiCaprio), we asked our March cover girls—Oz the Great and Powerful stars Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams—for their 21st-century updates. Their picks:

MILA KUNIS
Pick: Chanel’s Ankle-Strap Pumps
Why: “Such a classy look! What really appeals to me is that they’d be equally gorgeous with jeans or something dressier.”
Where: $1,350; at select Chanel boutiques; visit chanel.com for locations.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS
Pick: Charlotte Olympia’s Clio Leopard Heels
Why: “The heels on this pair make me feel teetery-tottery—in a good way, like I’ve had a glass of Champagne!”
Where: $1,095; call 212-744-1842 or visit modaoperandi.com.

RACHEL WEISZ
Pick: Rag & Bone’s Classic Newbury Boot
Why: “I love Rag & Bone. Their stuff has a bit of edge but is also refined.”
Where: $495; at rag-bone.com.

Oz-Inspired Poll: Are You a Glinda or a Theodora?

Feb 21, 2013 @ 6:00 am

When it comes to fabulous costumes, there’s no place like Disney. To coincide with the March 8 release of Oz The Great and Powerful, Disney Store designers have created two adult-sized, limited-edition couture costumes inspired by two of the tale’s iconic witches, Theodora (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch), played by InStyle’s March cover girls Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams. Only 300 editions of each look were made, and you can shop both the Wicked ($400) and Good ($350) costumes now on disneystore.com (along with an entire collection of Oz-inspired goodies). “I spent a lot of the shoot in a leather corset, wired up in a harness, and flying around in costume,” Kunis told InStyle of playing the West’s most infamous Wicked Witch. And while broomstick flying might not be on your agenda, it’s still fun to imagine wearing a pointy hat inspired by Theodora’s infamous black topper. Unless, that is, you’re more of a Glinda girl. Vote below and tell us which witch are you: Good or Bad?

Found It! Mila Kunis’s Favorite Necklace (She Bought It for Her Pals, Too!)

Feb 20, 2013 @ 11:50 am

Mila Kunis is one of three Oz the Great and Powerful stars who grace the cover of InStyle’s March issue, and inside, she gave us all the details about what you will (and won’t) find her wardrobe. One thing that tops her list of favorites? This necklace by jewelry designer Dana Rebecca. “It’s really delicate: black diamonds in a row and a rose gold chain,” Kunis tells InStyle of the piece, which she wears almost every day. “I just bought the same one for all my closest girlfriends. They each had complimented me on it, separately, at one point or another, so I thought it would be wonderful if we all could share it.” And you can share it, too—the charm, featuring .04 carats of black diamonds on a 14k rose gold chain, is available for $220 at danarebeccadesigns.com.
