Oz-Inspired Poll: Are You a Glinda or a Theodora?

When it comes to fabulous costumes, there’s no place like Disney. To coincide with the March 8 release of Oz The Great and Powerful, Disney Store designers have created two adult-sized, limited-edition couture costumes inspired by two of the tale’s iconic witches, Theodora (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch), played by InStyle’s March cover girls Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams. Only 300 editions of each look were made, and you can shop both the Wicked ($400) and Good ($350) costumes now on disneystore.com (along with an entire collection of Oz-inspired goodies). “I spent a lot of the shoot in a leather corset, wired up in a harness, and flying around in costume,” Kunis told InStyle of playing the West’s most infamous Wicked Witch. And while broomstick flying might not be on your agenda, it’s still fun to imagine wearing a pointy hat inspired by Theodora’s infamous black topper. Unless, that is, you’re more of a Glinda girl. Vote below and tell us which witch are you: Good or Bad?

Michelle Williams is Growing Her Pixie: Try On Her Different Lengths Here

Feb 20, 2013 @ 4:50 pm

Ever since debuting a pixie in spring of 2010, Michelle Williams hasn’t looked back at her Dawson’s-era hairstyles—until now! The star, who is one-third of our March cover, revealed that growing out her hair is currently at the top of her to-do list. “I think I’m ready! It’s on its way, slowly but surely,” Williams told E! News, adding that the in-between phase was the only thing stopping her. “That’s why I’ve stayed with short hair for so long. That mid-stage is insufferable, it’s really hard on your self-esteem.” While we’ve never seen Williams’s strands looking anything less than flawless, we already know what every stage of her hair transformation will look like thanks to our Hollywood Makeover Tool.

And you can try the growing-it-out stages, too! Just upload your picture to try on her many lengths, then, share your makeover on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see what your friends think. You may be tempted to make a change yourself! Click the box below to start.

Our favorite looks this week—plucked from our Look of the Day section—took fundamental colorways and added a dose of sparkle. Taylor Swift vamped up the Grammys red carpet in an ethereal J. Mendel dress, Zoe Saldana wore a peek-a-boo Alexander McQueen LWD, Beyoncé worked every angle of her embellished Elie Saab Haute Couture gown, Michelle Williams wowed in a Prada column, and Olivia Wilde watched the Calvin Klein runway show in a periwinkle design by the label. Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz Walk the Yellow Brick Road for Oz

It was a magical night for InStyle’s cover girls Mila Kunis (in Dolce & Gabbana), Michelle Williams (in Prada and a Kate Young for Target clutch), and Rachel Weisz (in Victoria Beckham), when the cover trio premiered their new film, Oz The Great and Powerful at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. This premiere focused on grand entrances—instead of a red carpet, stars walked down a yellow brick road and, in the biggest arrival of them all, star James Franco descended from above inside a hot air balloon, much like the way the wizard enters the colorful world of Oz in the film. The movie opens nationwide on March 8, and in the meantime, you can get the inside scoop on all of the stars in the March issue of InStyle, on newsstands—and downloadable for your tablets—now.
