Caboodles and Maybelline Get a Modern Revamp

Aug 14, 2012 @ 3:30 pm

Crank up the Delorean because Caboodles and Maybelline are going back to the future, giving modern revamps to two of their cult best-sellers. First, Maybelline released its classic Great Lash mascara in four new head-turning shades—blue, purple, green, and teal. The new hues just hit drugstores nationwide for $7 each, so stock up—they’re only here for the month of August. Then, Caboodles is re-releasing their very first makeup organizer to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary. The original pastel carry-all launched in 1987, and you can pick up the retro revamp (only 1,000 available) for $25 on the brand’s Facebook Page starting September 1st. This is totally rad.

Sunday nights just aren’t the same since Mad Men‘s fourth season finale. Thankfully, though, things are starting to look up! The show’s incredibly talented costume designer Janie Bryant is coming out with a new book, The Fashion File, on November 1st. And lucky for you, we snagged an advanced copy. In it, Bryant details every part of the quintessential Mad Men look. Want to know how to create that show-stopping red lip? It’s in here. Or how to highlight your best assets like your waist or shoulders? You can read about that too. Actress January Jones even pens the foreward. Plus, Janie Bryant discusses how crucial it is to know your measurements (and how best to measure yourself), bras every woman should have in her closet, easy steps for that smoldering, smoky eye, and her personal beauty product faves (hint: affordable Maybelline Falsies Mascara is one)! Whether you’re more of a Joan or a Betty, a Peggy or a Megan, this book will have you channeling ’60s-style and looking top-to-toe gorgeous all the way. Pre-order your copy today!
