Free-flowing champagne! Horses on the run! Stars packed in to a park! Now that’s our kind of summer kickoff. The sixth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic delivered all of these party elements this weekend, when stars like Rosario Dawson, Ashley Olsen, and more ferried over from Manhattan Island to Liberty State Park in New Jersey to take in the annual match, which raised money for the recovery of Liberty State Park and due to damages sustained from Hurricane Sandy. Matthew McConaughey co-hosted this year’s event alongside famed polo player Nacho Figueras, who walked the red carpet in crutches due to an injury he endured two weeks prior. While Figueras could not play on his four-person Black Watch team against Team Nespresso, he did offer up a substitute: Mini Nacho, his 13-year-old son, Hilario. Good thing he didn’t ask McConaughey. “I’ve never played polo so I don’t know what I’d do with a stick in my hand or whatever it’s called,” the actor told reporters. “But I like horses. I wouldn’t call myself a cowboy. Riding horses is somewhat like riding a bike, you don’t really forget.” During half-time, the crowd—7,000 polo watchers and VIPs combined—took a break from sipping Veuve champagne and rose to stomp the divots Pretty Woman-style before a backdrop of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. ”It’s so elegant and classic!” McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves told InStyle.com. Click to see more photos (and find out who won the match).

What a day at the InStyle pop-up portrait studio at the Sundance Film Festival! It’s the movie your girlfriends can’t stop talking about—Magic Mike—featuring ultra-ripped guys on stage dancing and dancing and dancing some more. So, when we caught up with Cody Horn, who plays the love interest to Channing Tatum‘s “Mike” at the Young Hollywood Awards, we had to find out what she thought of the dare-to-bare costumes her co-stars Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, and Matt Bomer wear for their performances. “It was really funny to talk with the costume designer about how he was going to find the characters for each of the men with their [stage looks],” Horn, inset, told InStyle.com. “You had think about that kind of problem. Matthew McConaughey (in Dolce & Gabbana), Channing Tatum, and Joe Manganiello heated up the red carpet at last night’s Los Angeles premiere of Magic Mike. “What an incredible night!” Tatum tweeted, along with a photo of his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, as Manganiello caught up with his former One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush (in an A.L.C. maxi skirt).
